My personal opinion is he's stuck in the mid-2000's model. 2007 was his peak.

But like I said, "We'll see." When he starts consistently beating teams like Oregon or USC or UCLA then I'll believe it. My guess is he'll be a consistent 8-4 / 9-3 type guy for Arizona ... and for UofA that's plenty good enough.DonAZnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2440694009017367434.post-32333327788474896322014-09-10T19:06:42.717-04:002014-09-10T19:06:42.717-04:00Furman is legit. It seems like the experience at UM was positive for him. I think it looks pretty sweet considering he's adapting it to his personnel. It's all about Patriots vs. Giants (they can both go to hell) and similar Boston/NYC splits. I'm much more into the college scene and would rather live somewhere with people who care.BlastBeat88https://www.blogger.com/profile/11495258339873702405noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2440694009017367434.post-19478338112856459822014-09-10T09:56:36.017-04:002014-09-10T09:56:36.017-04:00I keep reading decent stat lines for Furman and Vi...I keep reading decent stat lines for Furman and Vinopal. I read about him on TTB!" :-)

I live in Tucson, so the fortunes of RR and U of A is in the local news here. I am interested to see how RR and the Wildcats fare this year, RR's 3rd season at Arizona. The PAC 12 has some pretty good teams, and I'm not convinced RR's spread implementation can overcome what he may face from the likes of USC, UCLA, Arizona State, and of course Oregon.

Watching the UTSA game I was left with the sense that RR's spread offense looks dated. I can't explain it because I'm not that good with X's and O's. But it felt dated compared to other spread teams. I think UofA is good enough to go 8-4 (against some not-to-good PAC12 teams), but I'm curious to see if they can click to the next level and get to 10-2 or better. I have my doubts. We'll see.

It's interesting living here in Tucson ... the football atmosphere is totally different from back in the midwest. There's a core of supporters, but football is not as big here as back east. Season tickets for the games start at $99 for all 7 home games. Get a few miles away from campus and the university feel drops off. DonAZnoreply@blogger.com
