To put that 4.51 (laser times at Nike) in perspective, Darius Slay of the Lions had the fastest speed at the combine at 4.36. There were just over a dozen other players btw Slay's speed and where this 16 year old kid is. If he can get to 4.45ish with 2 more years of natural growth he will be a truly elite speedster in college for that position. Also love that he loves to tackle. Rivals currently has him as the #5 prospect in Ohio.Markhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06241756200482130281noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2440694009017367434.post-35775243022141631922013-08-25T20:44:48.822-04:002013-08-25T20:44:48.822-04:00His speed is fantastic. His speed is fantastic.Markhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06241756200482130281noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2440694009017367434.post-60092096783062752942013-08-25T17:32:27.921-04:002013-08-25T17:32:27.921-04:00Very excited about this commitment. When signing day rolls around in 18 months, I wouldn't be surprised if he's added an inch or two and 10-15 lbs. He's a better fit for safety than some of the guys we have playing there now (Courtney Avery, for example).Thunderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09708792562446136381noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2440694009017367434.post-43467825845048096212013-08-24T08:01:29.513-04:002013-08-24T08:01:29.513-04:00Honey Badger......minus the whole weed thing!........Honey Badger......minus the whole weed thing!.....we hope!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2440694009017367434.post-48116238793321157692013-08-24T06:51:33.620-04:002013-08-24T06:51:33.620-04:00I know he's small for it, but with his tacklin...I know he's small for it, but with his tackling ability and speed, could he play safety if his man to man isn't quite up to cornerback?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2440694009017367434.post-2068572346787072312013-08-24T06:21:46.533-04:002013-08-24T06:21:46.533-04:00That kid looks like a player. But for a smallish sophomore playing major competition like that, the kid looks very good. Super-aggressive in run-support, nice instincts in zone, runs away from people as a receiver... he put together more impressive highlights as a soph than a lot of top recruits have over a career.

I think this guy could be a James Ross type recruit - a slightly undersize defensive guy who just reads and reacts quicker than other players.Painter Smurfnoreply@blogger.com
