Recruiting Snapshot: Minnesota

2015 Team Ranking: #63. Minnesota signed twenty-four 3-stars.

Cream of 2015 Crop: Minnesota's top-ranked recruit was Southfield (MI) Southfield safety Dior Johnson (Southfield also sent WR Ray Buford, Jr. to Minnesota in 2015). The Gophers nabbed the #6 junior college cornerback in Charlie Rogers.

2016 Team Ranking: #39. Minnesota has two 4-stars and nine 3-stars committed.

Cream of 2016 Crop: The Gophers have two 4-star recruits who are in the top 255 recruits nationally. The best is Eden Prairie (MN) Eden Prairie outside linebacker/defensive end Carter Coughlin (see below), who's #201 overall in the 247 Composite and even the #84 overall player in the 247 Sports rankings. He'll be playing in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in January, and he picked Minnesota over Ohio State and Oregon. The other top prospect is Mundelein (IL) Carmel Catholic offensive tackle Sean Foster, who is the #28 tackle and #255 overall.
