2024 Recruiting Update: June 26, 2023

Dominic Nichols

COMMITMENTS

Brandywine (MD) Gwynn Park defensive end Devon Baxter committed to Michigan (LINK).

Ijamsville (MD) Oakdale defensive end Dominic Nichols committed to Michigan (LINK).

OFF THE BOARD

Frisco (TX) Reedy offensive tackle Max Anderson (4-star, #18 OT, #201 overall) committed to Tennessee. At one time he was pegged for Michigan, but once the offensive line class started to fill up, Anderson seemed reticent to join such a large OL class.

Hit the jump for more.

Tampa (FL) Carrollwood Day running back Anthony Carrie (4-star, #23 RB, #272 overall) committed to Michigan State. He's now Michigan State's top rated recruit, and the Spartans' class is #48 overall.

Philadelphia (PA) Roman Catholic wide receiver Tyseer Denmark (4-star, #33 RB, #227 overall) committed to Penn State. The Nittany Lions' class is now ranked #6 overall for 2024.

Gainesville (GA) Gainesville cornerback Zion Ferguson (4-star, #26 CB, #305 overall) flipped from LSU to North Carolina.

Bellflower (CA) St. John Bosco linebacker Jordan Lockhart (4-star, #31 LB, #368 overall) committed to Texas A&M. He was committed to Ole Miss when Chris Partridge was still there, and he gave Michigan an official visit this spring. But with Michigan landing another couple linebackers, it seemed like there wasn't room left for Lockhart.

Olney (MD) Good Counsel defensive end Darien Mayo (4-star, #22 DL, #178 overall) committed to Clemson. He was supposed to officially visit Michigan this past weekend even though he was trending to Clemson. When teammate Aaron Chiles committed to Florida unexpectedly instead of Michigan, I figured the chances with Mayo may have gone down the drain.

Pearland (TX) Shadow Creek safety Maurice Williams, Jr. flipped from LSU to Houston.

Cleveland (OH) Glenville cornerback Bryce West (4-star, #4 CB, #49 overall) and tight end Damarion Witten (4-star, #19 TE, #346 overall) committed to Ohio State. West took an official visit to Michigan and was rumored to be coming back this past week for an unofficial, but he fell into the Glenville-to-OSU trap like so many other players of yesteryear.

MISCELLANEY

Here's a list of visitors and campers from this past week (LINK).
