Check out some excellent highlights of 2012 linebacker James Ross, who will be attending Michigan next fall. He's never going to be a hulking middle linebacker, but watch how quickly he diagnoses plays and gets to the ballcarrier. It's going to be fun watching him take the field in Ann Arbor.
With a TTB rating of 92, Ross is currently the second highest rated player in this year's class, trailing only Kyle Kalis. Like most freshmen, he needs to add some weight, but it's hard to imagine this kid redshirting after watching those highlights.
ReplyDeleteThis kid could very much be the answer at WILL. We don't really need a hulking middle linebacker at this point; we need a guy who can properly read plays and track down ball carriers.
ReplyDeleteI'm also interested to see how Antonio Poole looks after a redshirt year to bulk up. Hoping our depth at the WILL is much better. I expect Morgan to switch to the MIKE after this season.

ReplyDeleteI like Poole, too. It might be tough to find playing time for all these talented linebackers.
I think this guy is going to be very, very solid. He's basically the exact same size as Greg Jones was coming out of high school and I could see his career turning out very similarly.
