  1. some pretty big drops but not unexpected considering how early those November rankings were. I would guess the a majority of players in top 250 early on end up dropping due to players discovered later, and when they don't develop as much ad expected over senior years.

The biggest surprise to me is Butt dropping all the wat out, I thought he was pretty well regarded as a pass catching TE.

    1. I believe he was ranked as a DE in November, but now he's listed as a TE. Perhaps the position change makes him less desirable. I don't know why, but it's possible.

  2. What did Jake Butt do to piss 247 off?

  3. Still no official word on Chase Abbington's offer?

    1. You mean the position? Or whether he actually has one?

  4. Tentative hypothesis: 247 is a little more derivative than the other 3 main sites. They seem to rely more on offers and recent reports than the other sites which often (sometimes stubbornly) stick to their first-hand evals. Given that, it makes sense that they'd drop Lewis and Shallman who have unimpressive offer lists (relative to top 100ish prospects). Butt dropping out entirely is a little surprising though. But he's still on their top 10 TE list, so he's probably just-missing the top 247.

Shallman should be rated as an ATH, not a DE.

    1. Butt is the #9 tight end, and the #8 tight end (Mike Heuerman) is the #210 player overall. So yeah, he's just barely outside the top 247.
