Olivia Culpo
Kyle Meinke talked to incoming freshman Drake Johnson about his future at Michigan.  Johnson, by the way, won his third 110-meter hurdles state title this past weekend.

  1. I watched Drake Johnson's highlight film again, and I think he will be an interesting case. One thing this kid does have is great acceleration through the hole and the highly coveted breakaway speed. His track exploits are obvious from his highlight reel.

What he doesn't appear to have is... everything else. He goes down relatively easily on first contact, his vision is so-so, and his lateral agility appears to be average. I do, however, have high hopes that he will be developed by the staff, and I'm coming around on the Drake Johnson offer as one that may pay dividends in the future. As the old adages go: you can't teach speed and you can't teach size. He has both of those things in spades.

Should be an interesting subplot with a relatively level playing field for those vying for the RB position. Will Drake see the field?

  2. I really didnt see that track speed translated on the field....it looks like hes a straight away runner, and any hesitations or moves affects that top end speed dramatically.
