If you look at recent Heisman winners the award doesn't seem to go the the "most NFL ready" player, or the "best player on the best team" it simply seems to go to the athlete with the best all around production. A running back, or pro style qb will have a difficult time competing with the sheer number of touchdowns and total offense Denard can produce next year because no matter how great they are, their production is one dimensional. USC will have to run a Houston style offense for Barkley to match Drob, next year. If he turned just a few of last years int's into td's he'd have comparable numbers to Tebow and RG3. Neither of those winners are consistently accurate passers and had bad games, or in Tebows case, bad seasons. It's not in the bag, but he las a legitimate shot if his passing improves in this second year in a new offense.
