  1. Not surprised to see Hilliard move up, widely considered the top player in Ohio this year.

You have Hjalte Froholdt listed as a d-end in your offer list. Maybe in a 3-4 he could be an end but I don't really seem has a 4-3 end. Listed at 6-4 280 as a junior.

It is still relatively early but the lacks of offers confuses me. Outside of linebacker no position group has more than 4 offers. Michigan also is taking 4 linebackers in this class which makes it even more confusing.

    1. On these lists, I try to list the players at the position where 247 Sports (or whichever recruiting service) lists them. For example, that's why Brian Cole is listed as an "ATH." However, I do think Froholdt could end up as a strongside end, depending on how his body develops.

    2. By the way, I really like Hilliard, too. He's one of the guys I really want in this class, kind of like I want(ed) Dwight Williams in the 2014 class.

  2. Hjalte Froholdt is an awesome name and I really like our chances of landing him.

We have not recruited California as much as I had hoped. With Hoke coaching at San Diego State plus Borges and his west coast connections, why have we not gone after more CA players?

    1. Recruiting in California is generally a losing proposition. Most of those kids don't want to go far away from home and play in a cold environment. Hoke will go after the guys they really want, but much of the time, the efforts will just be wasted. The coaches are offering guys they think they might have a chance with. You can see just with this 2014 recruiting class that it's tough to get California guys to visit, and often, they need to take official visits instead of unofficials because of the cost of travel. Now that the class is nearly filled up, there might not even be a need for these California kids like Dwight Williams, Juju Smith, Adoree' Jackson, etc. to visit.

  3. With yet another small class projected, I'm hoping for:

    Cole
    Jenkins
    Froholdt
Hilliard - really hoping Mattison can close the deal with this one.
Tim Settle would be a ridiculous grab as well.

With those 5 prospects I would be happy.
