2021 Recruiting Update: December 4, 2020

With no Maryland game preview necessary for this week, here's a bit of an update on recruiting:

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2021

Cameron Bergeron - CB - Albany (GA) Westover: Bergeron is a 5'11", 180 lb. prospect who is committed to Duke. He's a 3-star, the #58 cornerback, and #697 overall. It does not appear that Michigan is going to push for Bergeron to flip, but since Bergeron is not an early enrollee, he could potentially be a target to heat up before the late signing period if he holds off on signing in December.

Hit the jump for more.

Savion Collins - DT - Miami (FL) Palmetto: Collins is a 6'4", 290-pounder who recently decommitted from Miami. He's a 4-star, the #20 defensive tackle, and #324 overall. There is a thought that he will end up at Florida, but Michigan really needs defensive tackles, so they could kick the tires here. Collins has never visited Michigan, so these chances appear to be slim; however, Collins is not slated to be an early enrollee, so he could drag his recruitment out to February or beyond.

Remington Strickland - OT - Sugar Land (TX) Fort Bend Christian: Strickland is a 6'4", 292 lb. prospect with offers from Oklahoma and Texas A&M, among others. He's a 3-star, the #8 center, and #542 overall. Michigan is looking at him to potentially play offensive tackle, though I still think he's more likely to end up on the interior.

OFF THE BOARD

Logan Fano - DE - Provo (UT) Timpview: Fano committed to BYU after previously decommitting from BYU.

Ross Maseuli - OG - Santa Ana (CA) Mater Dei: Maseuli committed to our old friend Brady Hoke at San Diego State.

Bryson Nesbit - TE - Charlotte (NC) South Mecklenburg: Nesbit committed to North Carolina. It would be pretty fun to play in UNC's offense these days.

Bryce Steele - LB - Raleigh (NC) Millbrook: Steele committed to Boston College. For a while he played at Luiji Vilain's alma mater of Alexandria (VA) Episcopal and Michigan was thought to be in the mix, but Michigan does not appear to be looking for players of Steele's type right now.

MISCELLANEY

I won't say that I'm not into speculation, but at this point, there's way too much possible speculation to even cover. With Jim Harbaugh's future job status up in the air - along with the coordinators' status - it's impossible to say which class of 2021 signees will be affected. Some seem more solid than others, of course, but the biggest question mark at the moment is that of Fresno (CA) Central East wide receiver Xavier Worthy. Worthy is "committed" to Michigan but posted on Twitter that he would be deciding between Michigan and Alabama on December 16.
