Start to finish, this game was a grind. Dickinson, please come back! Eli showed up, and was not ready for his career to end. TWill contributed energy & effort. Still need more from Caleb, but dang that was fun!
They were just so dang quick. We had the size advantage, but - until the end - they led in rebounds and points in the paint
In the end, it was our fight & grit that kept us in games, and got us to the second week of the tourney. Poor shooting however, killed us all year
As disappointed as I was in Juwan a few weeks ago, he & his staff did a fantastic job with the team's resilience & mental toughness, and put them in positions to succeed. Open looks were there, but we had no Jordan Poole, Nik Stauskas or even Chaundee Brown to connect more often
Props to Eli, who went out like a warrior, and let's hope Hunter says 'F it' and returns for his Junior year. Why not?

ReplyDeleteHere in Tucson the anticipation is all about the Wildcats against TCU later today. Last night's Gonzaga / Memphis game was a great game.
ReplyDeleteThis is my favorite part of the tournament: the "32 down to 16" round. Some of the most exciting, scrappiest games are played during these two days.
So true Anon. Love this second round ea year. Having UM coast for five days while awaiting a Sweet16 matchup is sports bliss
DeleteI really didn't think they would get to the Sweet 16.
ReplyDeleteRight now I'm thinking they won't beat Nova.
Hope I'm wrong again.
Villanova is going to be tough. It'll require a great game by Michigan to run with them.
