Last year: I ranked Harris #107 and said he would be a backup defensive back (LINK). He played in thirteen games on special teams and four games at cornerback.

I underestimated Harris going into 2021. After sitting the bench as a walk-on for his first two years on campus, he suddenly became a contributor on special teams and even defense during his third year on campus. Granted, his defensive contributions came at the end of blowouts, but it's still significant for him that he was on the field during live game action.
Now we enter 2022, and I think competition to play corner is going to be a little stiffer. Yes, Michigan lost Vincent Gray to an attempt at the NFL (he went undrafted), but they brought in a couple freshmen, one of whom is a 5-star who is certainly going to see the field in Will Johnson. Add in some development time for the younger guys, and perhaps they'll see the field before Harris. Regardless, Harris should be a special teamer once again and somebody who can take some snaps in blowouts if necessary.

The BIG10 will have to change their name to the BIG20 or something. Utah, Washington, and Oregon might be headed into the BIG10. The big question is, where will Notre Dame end up?

I think Notre Dame will eventually end up in the Big Ten. It just makes too much sense.
DeleteI will probably put together a post about conference realignment, but I have no real insight there. The business side of sports is not really my cup of tea.
Notre Dame to the BIG10 does seem to make more sense than in the SEC. They already play Michigan, Michigan St, Purdue, Northwestern, and other BIG teams a lot. They have a big game against Ohio St on opening weekend this year. It should be a really good one. I'm not sold on Ryan Day. Of course as a Michigan fan, I want to see the Notre Dame upset. It's on in prime time. Should be a lot of tvs watching it on "Week 1". It looks like the biggest game of the day. Cincinnati is at Arkansas(upset watch in that one). Utah at Florida. Oregon at Georgia. Those are all the big matchups that day. So Notre Dame at Ohio St will be in the spotlight, the biggest game of Opening Weekend.
DeleteIt just feels the natural thing that Notre Dame would go to the BIG10. It doesn't feel natural that they end up in the SEC. The SEC will probably get Clemson and Florida St. There would probably have to be 4 divisions of the BIG, North, South, East, West. There couldn't be just an BIG East and BIG West. There would just be too many good teams all in the East, knocking each other off every year, knocking each other out of the playoffs.
