Hit the jump for more on Beigel's recruitment.

Beigel is a native of Germany who is transferring to Choate Rosemary Hall - the alma mater of Michigan offensive tackle Tristan Bounds - for his junior year in high school. He went on a camp tour in June that took him to various places, including Florida, Kent State, Michigan, Michigan State, and Ohio State. CMU and Michigan came through with offers, and one month after camping, he pledged to the Wolverines.

I don't have any film or camp highlights or anything on which to evaluate Beigel, so this post is going to be kind of lame. I'll try to spice it up by offering below a vague outline of the potential offensive line depth chart in 2024:

LT: Jeffrey Persi (RS Sr.), Tristan Bounds (RS Jr.)
LG: Giovanni El-Hadi (RS Jr.), Alessandro Lorenzetti (RS So.)
C: Greg Crippen (Sr.), Raheem Anderson II (RS Jr.), Amir Herring (RS Fr.)
RG: Zak Zinter (RS Sr.), Reece Atteberry (RS Sr.), Connor Jones (RS So.)
RT: Andrew Gentry (RS So.), Manuel Beigel (Fr.)

We're looking far into the future to the point where we've really only seen one kid play much at all (Zinter), but that gives an idea of where things might stand in two years.

Michigan is going on quite a run with international players, landing Ghana native Collins Acheampong, French outside linebacker Aymeric Koumba, and Beigel this month on the heels of Junior Colson (born in Haiti), David Ojabo (born in Nigeria before moving to Scotland), Julius Welschof (also German), and Alessandro Lorenzetti (Canadian), Luiji Vilain (Canadian), and Sammy Faustin (born in Turks and Caicos) in the last five years.

Beigel is the second commitment for 2024, where he joins Tennessee linebacker Mason Curtis.

  1. He unknown, unranked, no film. No big names yet. Michigan has taken a free fall in recruiting. Very concerning this drop off a cliff in recruiting. It will show in 2 years. All the speculation, all that is perceived, they say, as to why it's is that Jim Harbaugh is ready to leave for the pros at any time .
