Brady Prieskorn, Wolverine

Brady Prieskorn

Rochester (MI) Adams tight end Brady Prieskorn committed to Michigan on Tuesday afternoon. He chose the Wolverines over offers from Alabama, Georgia, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and many others.

Prieskorn is listed at 6'6" and 225 lbs. As a junior in 2022, he caught 24 passes for 648 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Prieskorn was offered by Michigan all the way back in January of 2022. While Michigan seemed like the hometown favorite, there was word that Ohio State and Penn State were both seeming like friendly landing spots. Prieskorn does not spend much effort talking to recruiting sites or building up hype on social media, so it was unclear how long he would let the process drag out. On Monday he said he would be announcing his commitment on Tuesday at 3:15 p.m., and he did all that without releasing a graphic or a top group. But the writing was on the wall by then that playing about an hour away from his hometown was going to be the choice.

I wrote a scouting report on Prieskorn a few days ago, with some anticipation that a decision would be coming down soon (LINK).

I think Prieskorn will play immediately at Michigan. When he arrives on campus, he could be behind A.J. Barner, Colston Loveland, and perhaps one or two other guys who are already on the roster. But he should get his feet wet as a player, because he will likely be counted on in 2025 to play a significant role, since Barner, Loveland, and Matt Hibner could all be gone.

Michigan now has 13 commitments in the class of 2024, and Prieskorn is the second tight end, joining Bellevue (WA) Bellevue's Hogan Hansen (LINK). If the class were to wrap up today, Prieskorn would be the highest ranked tight end (#56 in the 247 Composite) in Michigan history, ahead of #74 overall Devin Asiasi from the class of 2016. The last Michigan player to come from Rochester (MI) Adams was cornerback Vincent Gray.
