  1. I read that Bowman won the job, but he came in off the bench

Alex VanSumeren ... I'm mean, I'd take him, but we got much better Tackles that we may have missed on had he stuck with his commitment

Giles Jackson is a RB, isn't he?

  2. Joe Milton ... 12 for 30 (70%) for 201 yards, 2 touchdowns, no interceptions, and a long of 41 yards (don't know what the YAC was there). That's a pretty respectable line for a QB. The team rushed for another 287 yards, including 33 by Milton. Milton was kinda all over the place earlier ... is this a case where he simply matured and grew into his body?

    1. With no pressure and an open WR, he can now connect. That's progress

Still don't care for the flat footed stance in the pocket, or the forced throws, but it's looking like - unless he capitulates in SEC play - the NFL will come calling after his sixth year

    2. Milton got better but is also in a good system for him. Same goes for cade, but Milton is better than cade.

    3. 12 for 30 is hardly 70%.

    4. Yeah, I transposed my numbers ... he went 21 for 30, not 12 for 30.

  3. Jacksonville State and Rich Rodriguez: looking at the stats, East Tennessee turned the ball over 4 times (2 fumbles, 2 interceptions), and went 1 for 11 in 3rd down. It's tough to win a football game like that. Heck, it's tough to even stay in the game turning it over 4 times and going only 1 for 11 on 3rd downs.

  4. My guy Alan Bowman's heisman campgain is off to a rough start.

Ethan Burke was a guy I was sad about losing. Not surprising when Texas offered him he flipped but he would have been nice to have.

Really feel bad for AJ Henning being stuck in a tough situation at Northwestern. Would have been nice to see him end up elsewhere, even Indiana or Iowa would be less depressing.

  5. AJ will have a NW degree, maybe he can get into the business school if they have an undergraduate program and focus on academics. He has nil chance at a pro career. I wonder if kids can transfer to schools like Rice and Stanford and have their credits transfer? Typically those elite private schools will not accept transfer credits for mortals. Maybe of Div 1 athletes they make an exception.
