  1. Man I knew that was part of our problem in the following years on the field, but looking at it now really gave me the ahhh moment. Holy crap that's got to be one of the worst recruiting classes in the history of Michigan football. Molk, Hemmingway, and Van Bergen did play huge roles in their time at Michigan, but Mallett left after a year, Warren left way to early, Woolfolk was supposed to be legit but ended up a backup his senior year, Rogers should've never even seen the field as a cornerback, and all of the rest you just shake your head at. How could their recruiting fall off so bad during the end of Lloyd's tenure.

    1. Eh, I don't think it's as bad as you're making it out to be. You have to take intO account the coaching change. Mallet, Warren, and Toney Clemons all turned into very good or good players. It wasn't a bad recruiting class but it didn't develop as any of us hoped.

    2. As far as the number of quality players that came out of it compared to the number of disappointments, bailouts and outright bombs, I think 2005 may have been even worse. I'm trying to find anyone in that class other than Mesko and Manningham who was worth a darn. Ok, Grady was marginal, but way below expectations for a 5 star RB. When a punter ends up being the second best player in the class, you know you're in some lean times.

Carr got good classes on paper, but I always thought his position coaches were sub-par, and player development as well. Hopefully we're moving beyond that now.

  3. It seems like 2006 sucked the life out of Lloyd. After the OSU and USC losses, he is guilty of shoddy recruiting, not preparing players for App State and the leaving the school in complete disarray. I liked him, but the more I learn about that 2007-2008 years the less I like the guy.
