  1. Is Hayes being offered as OL? I thought he projected on the DL.

    1. I haven't heard yet, and I haven't seen any highlights to make an educated guess.

  2. Hayes is almost certainly being recruited on the offensive line.

  3. How many are we projected to take at each position?

    1. That's pretty difficult to say at this point without the 2013 class finished. There's a long way to go before February 2014.

  4. Hoza Scott doesn't have an offer. Coaches told him he needs to visit first.

    1. Yeah...I read that, too, but Rivals was still listing him with an offer, so I left him on there. Now it seems they've removed the check mark (as of 30 seconds ago), so I'll remove him from the list.

  5. Do you know what the deal is with Khairi Clark? 247 is the only site I can find to report him with an offer and they don't have any information except the checkmark.

    1. I haven't heard much on him except the offer listed on 247.

  6. Tommy Doles, Time for another side splitting bunch of Doles bananas! The West Michiganders will know what I'm talking about. lol

  7. Only 1 commit with >50 offers? Even 2nd tier recruiters like Wisc and MSU are ahead. Why aren't Damon and Malik in the fold? Not trying to sound an alarm, but want to understand the "relatively slow" pace for 2014 when 2013 has been largely in hand for months.

    1. We had 2 commits at this point for 2013 - Shane and Dymonte. Most of our 2013 commits pulled the trigger in February. We're not behind at all. I've been really impressed with Wisconsin's recruiting, but MSU's isn't a concern. Other than Drake Harris, none of their other commits were likely to garner a Michigan offer.

If there's anything to sound an alarm about, it's the lack of QB offers. It's a position of HUGE need for next year and they're taking their sweet time offering those kids.

  8. Any intell on Pocic or Rodgers or another top OL taking Dawson's place?

Agree with "3 Years" that QB void is highly concerning after 8 games in HS to decide offeree(s). Next big push must be WRs to land elite or game-changers if Treadwell doesn't commit.

  9. Expect chandler high WR, Dionte Sykes to commit to Michigan in January...probably the best WR on the west coast. Dad played for Brady at OSU, plus family has strong ties with coaching staff....Great fit.. big body fast player who can stretch the Field...

  10. What I thinking their recruiting goals should be:
Every recruiting class: 1 Top 20 RB; 1 Top 20 WR; 2 Top 25 OL; 2 Top 25 DL; 1 Top 20 DB plus whatever else they need.

Every other recruiting class: 1 Top 10 Pro Style QB*; 1 Top 10 TE; 2 Top 25 LBs plus whatever else they need.

    *Beginning after 2014 recruiting class.

  11. Magnus, What do you think of Juwann Beatty? Seems like pretty athletic guy has some good feet under him

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I like him, but he's not as powerful or as nasty as I would like. He's still a solid prospect, though.

      Delete
  12. Where on the line do you see Braden Smith and Damian Prince playing at? Also do you think Andrew Brown has any true interest in us? I have also been hearing that we are looking at Garrett Dickerson for Tight End and John Smith for safety/corner. Any thoughts on Kalen Ballage?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Magnus? Anyone??

      Delete
    2. Sorry, I missed this one. I think Smith and Prince are both offensive tackles, and I think either one could play on the left side. I think Brown is legitimately interested, but I don't think he will pick Michigan. Smith is being recruited as a safety but has also been told that he could play some offense, too. I like Ballage as a slot receiver, kind of like Christian McCaffrey. He could also play RB, but he doesn't seem to be the type of RB Michigan truly wants. He looks to me like more of a zone/outside guy than an inside runner.

  13. How often do you adjust the order of likeliness to commit to Michigan? Have you ever thought of adding something like a TTB star system? It could be a combination of what you think of their abilities and their at Michigan.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. That was supposed to be their fit at Michigan.

      Delete
    2. I don't often re-adjust the order of likeliness to commit to Michigan. When a new offer goes out at a particular position, then I'll do some rearranging of that position. I try to keep it fairly up to date, but it's a very inexact science anyway, so it's kind of a fool's errand.

      Delete
  14. Via Tom VH, Drake Harris de-committed from MSU today.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Where did you hear they offered Jalen Brown?

    ReplyDelete
  16. That site has inaccurate info - Jalen Brown has not been offered by Michigan or Mich St.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I'm sorry, but I have to trust them over an Anonymous poster on my site. If they remove it, I will too.

      Delete
    2. I am his parent - someone saw your post and congratulated Jalen - he has been recruited some by Michigan via letters and such, but they have not verbally offered him. Mich St is also recruiting him, but no offer as of yet either.

      Delete
    3. I have passed along the word to 247 Sports. I typically list offers until the recruiting sites remove them. Hopefully Michigan offers him anyway and makes it a moot point. He's a good looking prospect.

      Delete
    4. Thanks and he just got offered by Michigan today, and State yesterday

  17. Well since Berger and Hubbard are both headed to ohio who do you see as our next potential commit for that position? Who do you like now?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Winovich seems like the next most likely guy to commit. I'm not in love with any of the SAM prospects remaining on the board. Berger was the best SAM we had a good shot with, in my opinion.

      Delete
  18. Thoughts on Winovinch??

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Winovich is a good athlete. I think he's rated as a 3-star mostly because of his lack of bulk. If he can add some weight this offseason, then I think he'll be a 4-star soon after.

      Delete
  19. What's your take on offering another qb?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I think Michigan needs another QB, and they should have taken one in 2012. If they need to take two in one class, then I'm okay with it. The cream rises to the top.

      Delete
  20. pretty sure that he was offered by MSU not Michigan. No other sites report an offer. 247 reports a MSU offer April 25th...

    ReplyDelete
  21. What do you guys think of Marquel Dickerson RB out of Waldorf MD?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I hadn't heard of him before, but I just watched his film. I don't see him as a dynamic player at the FBS level.

      Delete
  22. Is there a reason you don't list Lo Marshall as a Michigan commit?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Just an oversight on my part. Thanks for the heads up.

  23. Grade for JBB??

    ReplyDelete
  24. What is your feeling on Richard Yeargin III?
I really like him a lot as a Sam in this defense.
You have him listed as a DE. Sam/DE and he remindes me of Courtney Upshaw.
I really hope they land this kid.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I don't think Michigan is a serious option for Yeargin, but I do think he could play SAM or WDE. I lean more towards WDE with him, but there's some flexibility. He's a good player - maybe not a superstar, but a good player. I think there are better and more viable options on the DE offer list, though (McDowell, Hand, etc.).

      Delete
  25. Mo Ways TTB Grade??

    ReplyDelete
  26. John "JuJu" Smith is being recruited by Michigan for Safety..He could play either, but it's safety for him unless Nicholson commits first then he would be looked at as an "athlete" still not WR.

    Keep up the great work,

    24/7- sports

    ReplyDelete
  27. A lot of places seem to be predicting Jamarco Jones as future College guard as I see you do also.. Why do you think Michigan would want another interior lineman rather than a more prototypical Tackle? Do you think he could play left or right tackle?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Magnus, where are you at in my time of need!?

      Delete
    2. Haha. I think Jones could play right tackle in a pinch, but he's more of a guard. I definitely don't think he's a blindside tackle. I think Michigan has a lot of moving parts on the offensive line, so it doesn't matter a whole lot whether they get an OG or OT at this point. Guys like Braden, Magnuson, Tuley-Tillman, Bushell-Beatty, and Kalis can play tackle in 2014 and beyond.
