  1. 5 - Ron Johnson (1968 vs. Wisconsin)
  2. 5 - Hassan Haskins (2021 vs. Ohio State)
  3. 4 - Fritz Seyferth (1970 vs. Minnesota)
  4. 4 - Ed Shuttlesworth (1972 vs. Minnesota)
  5. 4 - Rob Lytle (1975 vs. Indiana)
  6. 4 - Chris Howard (1996 vs. UCLA)
  7. 4 - Anthony Thomas (1998 vs. Hawaii)
  8. 4 - Chris Perry (2002 vs. Florida)
  9. 4 - Fitzgerald Toussaint (2013 vs. Indiana)

A total of 64 players have rushed for 3 touchdowns in a single game, so I didn't bother going any farther down the list.

  1. On first blush, the absence of Tim Biakabutuka's name from that list is surprising. You'd think with his 313 yards against Ohio State in 1995 would have resulted in more than just one touchdown, but that's all he had.

I cut my teeth on Michigan football starting in 1973, and I started attending games in person in 1975. Rob Lytle remains my favorite player of all time.
