  1. Bummer for Orji but if he can get an injury shirt season it maybe for the best since he was clearly outplayed and locked into QB2. Meanwhile McNamara is supposed to be QB 1A but looks more like 1B and might be trending to 2. If so it would be his 3rd school where he lost the starting gig.

  2. Wonder what happened to Zolich, our old DB coach from 2020 that went to CMU. Looks like he might have retired after the coaching change.

    1. Zordich is the DB coach at Youngstown State, which has a pretty star-studded coaching staff. Shawn Crable is a defensive analyst, Mike Yurcich is the offensive coordinator, and Mike Tomczak is an advisor to the head coach. Not bad for an FCS school.

    2. zordich..right. Zolich was a NT for ND back 30 years ago.

  3. Reporting from West Virginia ... the people here seem to value their Mountaineers more than they hold grudges, as Rodriguez being back is mostly a non-issue, provided he wins. He did this past weekend against Pitt, and for WVU, that's a big deal. But the win -- in overtime -- felt a bit like that 67-65 Michigan win over Illinois in 2009 ... that is: yeah, a W is a W, but the way they achieved the victory didn't project well into the future.

    1. I dunno...that win over Illinois for Michigan was 1.5 years into the Rich Rod era, but the win over Pitt for WVU is three games into his tenure. And Pat Narduzzi is an established coach at Pitt with his offensive and defensive systems securely in place. I think that's a pretty solid win for WVU.

    2. The 67-65 Illinois win (the fighting Zookers!) was a 3-4 OT game.
The boys fought their ass off for that one and I will never criticize a win where they fought like hell.
It was a really young team and we had the Beaver guy as the DC, they were getting crap in the media, and everyone was complaining about RR's spread (It will not work in the B10!). Didn't seem to bother OSU when they put in the spread and didn't lose a game for 10 years.

  4. Cole Cabana (lol), Tavi Dunlap and Ben Hall just need ... more carries ... pRoBaBlY ... s0meTiMeS
*unless you look at CJ Stokes, who only needed seven carries to produce

if Orji gets a FIFTH year, will he be trusted to pass? Was he in 2o23? 2o24? 2o25?

    1. Orji redshirted his first year, so he definitely has fifth year eligibility.

    2. But will he be trusted to pass? Why waste a scholarship on a QB who can't throw, even against poor Big Sky competition?

Might be time for a ... BET

      Delete
    3. I honestly can't imagine him playing QB as a fifth year guy. He's too good of an athlete to waste his entire career at a position he doesn't appear capable of playing. He should probably switch to LB or TE/H-back.

    5. Sometimes, things happen to make you wonder. Orgi. Who the fook saw that kid play and thought he could play QB at any college level. let along B10 football at UM. He was getting top end coaching for 2-3 years, practicing QB every day and he looked like they took a DE off the defense, coached him a week, and put him QB. Few, if any, have been worse. I mean, I didn't even see that athletic part to be honest. Stiff, lumbering, mechanical. Navarre with a little more speed. And I mean a little more. I can't believer UNLV took him as a QB.

      Delete
    6. When did je93 say Milton should move to Tight End? Don't lie t0bY. Bet me, lAnKt0bY!
Milton doesn't like contact; he's soft. I said he needed an incredible amount of snaps to improve all the intangibles he lacks. I was sure he'd be a bench guy at (then) P5, and brought up G5 or FCS. He sat the bench until year SIX! Seven years after his HS evals, he's the same enigma, scaring you from taking what could be an easy bet

Orji didn't beat sh:t. Mullings was our offensive savior against USC, Minnesota & ohio. Jordan Marshall against Bama. Orji was a liability, and sat on pine for it, eventually portalling to UNLV's(!) bench

Bet me that the gimmick won't be trusted to pass at UNLV next year, lAnKt0bY

You won't, because je93 is right AGAIN

In 2022 there was poster that came on every week demanding we change QB's, how JJ was overrated, didn't earn it. Actually hoping JJ would fail it seemed like.
Also, I was horrified when reports out of Fall camp in 2022 there were "tied" and it was even. JJ always popped off the screen with his ability and McNamara looked...uh, like a bottom half B10 QB at best. Ok arm, could be accurate but not great. Not much in the athletic dept.
He was voted captain so he must have been a good leader, he did hold the team together in 2021 for some solid wins on the road, Nebraska one of them. Then he whined like a little bitch he had to compete for his job. Blasted the team on his way out.

WITHOUT THE NFL TALENT SURROUNDING HIM MCNAMARA IS EXPOSED TO BE NO BETTER THAN ORJI/WARREN/TUTTLE'S BACKUP.

MCNAMARA WAS HERE FOR A GREAT GREAT SEASON BUT ITS OBVIOUS HE CAN TAKE NO CREDIT FOR IT. HE WAS PROPPED UP BY MICHIGAN AND ON HIS WAY OUT THE DOOR HE HAD THE GALL TO ACT LIKE A VICTIM. STRAIGHT UP PUNK.
