Harrington is a long, physical cornerback who has solid tackling skills. He's a good zone corner with long arms who should be able to jam receivers effectively, such as in Cover 2 schemes. He's a willing tackler who can shed blockers because of his length, and he's not afraid to stick his nose into the run game or come up and make big hits on short routes. His length should be a plus in Cover 3 as well, and he has solid ball skills.

Harrington does not change direction extremely well and may not fit into a man coverage system unless that can improve. He does not appear to have elite makeup speed, either.

Overall, Harrington is a good prospect who seems to need a zone-heavy system. Jeremy Clark is an example of a tall Michigan corner who had success in man coverage, but Michigan had a very good defensive line and he was a #2 corner. Harrington could also perhaps play safety with his tackling skills and length.

Harrington is one of two cornerback commits in the 2027 class, joining Darius Johnson, another lanky corner. Michigan used to recruit Mount Carmel heavily, but they have not landed a prospect from there since the 1980s when wide receiver Chris Calloway pledged to the Wolverines. Now Michigan has two verbals from the school in the 2027 class with Harrington and wide receiver teammate Quentin Burrell. Mount Carmel has also produced a couple elite NFL players in QB Donovan McNabb and DE Simeon Rice.

  1. I’ve read concerns about speed. In Man, does this force him to Safety, or at Nickel, guarding some of these flexed TEs?
