Milton (GA) Milton kicker Ryan Jung committed to Michigan, becoming the first member of Michigan’s 2028 recruiting class.
The 6'2", 195 lb. Jung went 4/5 on field goal attempts as a sophomore in 2025, with a long of 46. He made 50/62 extra points and 36/66 kickoffs were touchbacks.

Kohl's Kicking: 5-star, #1 kicker

Jung moved to the United States a couple years ago and played for Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy as a sophomore before transferring to Milton this off-season, a school that has never produced a Michigan player. He camped at Michigan last week and was immediately offered.
I typically punt when it comes to evaluating kickers/specialists, so Jung is ranked #1 by Kohl's and I'm going to assume he's solid because he kicks the ball far and good.
He is Michigan’s first commitment in the 2028 cycle and gives the Wolverines a potential long-term solution. Michigan has recently relied on transfer kickers like Dominic Zvada (Arkansas State) and James Turner (Louisville). The Wolverines have not used a "homegrown" kicker since Jake Moody in 2022.
