This list is fluid, so names may be added or removed as the week goes along. I'll add write-ups on some of these players as I find time during the week. (EDIT: Recent news suggests that some of the class of 2013 "official visits" will actually be unofficials because there are so many recruits in town; lots of recruits at one time means there's less time for individual attention, obviously.)
Detroit (MI) Cass Tech DE Joshua Alabi: Alabi is a 6'4", 245 defensive end/defensive tackle prospect from the class of 2015. He has no offers at this point, but he is likely to become a highly touted player as his career continues. He looks as if he'll eventually end up as an interior player. Alabi visited Michigan for the game against Air Force earlier this fall. (Highlight at the end of this video.)
Cincinnati (OH) Sycamore LB Tinashe Bere: Bere is a 6'1", 210 lb. inside linebacker prospect from the class of 2014. He has a lone offer from Illinois, and I doubt that he will be offered by Michigan. Michigan only seems to be going after elite linebacker prospects, and Bere doesn't appear to fit into that category. He's the former teammate of freshman tight end A.J. Williams. (Highlights.)
Indianapolis (IN) Pike WR Dominique Booth: Booth is a 6'1", 195 lb. wideout from the class of 2014. He has offers from Cal, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan State, Missouri, Purdue, and Wisconsin, among others. As a sophomore in 2011, he had 46 catches for 585 yards and 5 touchdowns. (Highlights.)
St. Charles (IL) East OG Brennan Bosch: Bosch is a 6'2", 235 lb. offensive line prospect for the class of 2015, so he's just a sophomore. He is the younger brother of 2013 Michigan offensive guard commit Kyle Bosch; the younger has an offer from Illinois already.
Wheaton (IL) St. Francis OG Kyle Bosch: Bosch committed to Michigan back in February. This is his official visit.
Columbus (OH) Walnut Ridge DE Robert Bowers: Bowers is a 6'6", 210 lb. defensive end prospect from the class of 2014. He has a lone offer from Cincinnati. He's very lanky and a good athlete, but he looks like he'll need to develop physically a little bit if he wants to get big-time offers. This was Bowers' second visit to Michigan. (Highlights.)
Pickerington (OH) North TE Jake Butt: Butt committed to Michigan back in February. This is his official visit.
Detroit (MI) Cass Tech QB Jayru Campbell: Campbell is a 6'3", 190 lb. quarterback from the class of 2015. He already has offers from Alabama and Notre Dame. As a freshman in 2011, he had 2,000 passing yards, threw 32 touchdowns, and had just 6 interceptions. Campbell is the teammate of 2013 commit Jourdan Lewis and the former teammate of freshman linebacker Royce Jenkins-Stone and freshman cornerback Terry Richardson. (Highlights.)
Tarpon Springs (FL) East Lake OT Mason Cole: Cole is a 6'5", 275 lb. offensive line prospect from the class of 2014. He visited Ann Arbor for the BBQ at the Big House back in July, and he has offers from the likes of Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and USC. Some people have suggested that his previous visit to Michigan vaulted the Wolverines to the top of his list, and a good game against MSU could result in a commitment. (Highlights.)
Massillon (OH) Washington CB Gareon Conley: Conley committed to Michigan back in February. This is his official visit.
Columbus (OH) Hamilton ATH Micky Crum: Crum is a 6'4", 212 lb. prospect for the class of 2014 who already has an offer from Bowling Green. Ohio Preps named him the #19 in-state prospect for his class. He's planning to play quarterback as a senior next season, but right now he's playing tight end and linebacker. I could see him playing tight end or SAM at the next level. (Highlights.)
Massillon (OH) Washington OG Nathaniel Devers: Devers is a 6'3", 265 lb. offensive guard prospect from the class of 2014. He has a lone offer from Toledo. Devers has visited Michigan previously, but did not earn an offer at the time. His teammate is Gareon Conley.(Highlights.)
Grand Rapids (MI) Christian OG Tommy Doles: Doles is a 6'5", 245 lb. offensive line prospect from the class of 2014. He has already been offered by Iowa State and Michigan, though his lack of bulk might be preventing him from more offers. Being a highly coveted prospect might depend on how much weight he can add in the next several months, but he's a very athletic kid with a high motor. Michigan is considered to be his leader.
Avon (OH) Avon CB Ross Douglas: Douglas committed to Michigan back in July. Here's a look at how his senior season is going.
Columbus (OH) Marion-Franklin WR Jaron Dukes: Dukes committed to Michigan in May. This is his official visit.
Crystal Lake (IL) Prairie Ridge OT Shane Evans: Evans is a 6'4", 250 lb. prospect from the class of 2014. He has no offers at this time.
Muskegon (MI) Muskegon DT Kenny Finley: Finley is a 6'3", 265 lb. defensive tackle prospect from the class of 2014. Muskegon is the alma mater of former Michigan defensive tackle Terrance Taylor, and the school has produced several other FBS prospects in recent years.
Parker (CO) Ponderosa OT Chris Fox: Fox committed to Michigan back in February.
Hudson (OH) Hudson LB Ben Gedeon: Gedeon committed to Michigan back in April. Check out how his senior season is going.
Richmond (VA) Hermitage RB Derrick Green: Green is a 6'1", 225 lb. running back who has been offered by Michigan, along with most of the big-time programs across the country. I did a couple scouting reports on Green (one live, one from video). Green has had several different teams high on his list (Alabama, Auburn, Ohio State, Oregon, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, etc.), but one constant has been Michigan. Both of his other presumed leaders at this point - Auburn and Tennessee - are having iffy or poor seasons, so a good performance against Michigan State this weekend could vault Michigan into the lead if he's looking for a program headed in the right direct. This is his official visit.
Woodbridge (VA) Woodbridge DE Da'Shawn Hand: Hand is a 6'4", 245 lb. prospect from the class of 2014. He already has offers from most of the big-time programs around the nation. He's also generally considered to be the top overall recruit in his class. The fact that he's driving up from Virginia during the season suggests that his interest in Michigan is strong, so hopefully the Wolverines can make a good impression on Saturday. UPDATE: Hand is no longer planning to attend Saturday's game. (Highlights.)
Berea (KY) Madison Southern RB Damien Harris: Harris is a 5'11", 201 lb. tailback prospect from the class of 2015. He's one of just two current sophomores to have an offer from the Wolverines. As a freshman in 2011, he had 62 carries for 742 yards (12.0 yards/carry) and 12 touchdowns. This will be his second time visiting Michigan, and his highlights are very impressive from early in his sophomore season:
Huber Heights (OH) Wayne LB Dorian Hendrix: Hendrix is a 6'1", 215 lb. linebacker prospect from the class of 2014. He attends the alma mater of former Michigan cornerback Terrence Talbott and defensive tackle Terry Talbott. Hendrix already has offers from Bowling Green, Illinois, and Toledo, among others. Ohio Preps lists him as the #11 player in the state of Ohio for 2014. He looks to me like a middle linebacker prospect, but I'm not sure that Michigan will be looking for many more linebackers in the 2014 class. (Highlights.)
Detroit (MI) East English Village TE Khalid Hill: Hill committed to Michigan back in February. This is his official visit.
Detroit (MI) Cass Tech RB/LB Gary Hosey: Hosey is a 6'0", 225 lb. prospect from the class of 2014. He does not have any offers at this point. Michigan is looking at him as a potential running back recruit, but I don't think he has the speed to be a BCS-level tailback; fullback might be more likely, but I'm not sure how many scholarships the Wolverines coaching staff will allot for fullbacks, with Sione Houma already on the roster and Wyatt Shallman coming in 2013.
Pickerington (OH) North RB Godwin Igwebuike: Igwebuike is a 5'11", 185 lb. running back who's the teammate of 2013 defensive end commit Jake Butt. He has offers from Cincinnati, Illinois, Nebraska, Pitt, and Wisconsin, and he's currently committed to Northwestern, so he's no slouch. If Michigan can't reel in Derrick Green, Igwebuike might be a backup plan. (Highlights.)
Trotwood (OH) Trotwood-Madison RB Ashton Jackson: Jackson is a 5'11", 180 lb. running back from the class of 2014. He has offers from Cincinnati, Illinois, and Purdue, among others. His teammate is 2013 Michigan linebacker commit Mike McCray. As a sophomore in 2011, Jackson had 1,100 yards rushing and 18 rushing touchdowns. (Highlights.)
Westland (MI) John Glenn WR Da'Mario Jones: Jones is a 6'2", 185 lb. wide receiver who is currently committed to Central Michigan. He also has offers from Bowling Green and Toledo, but he appears to be a backup plan option in case the recruitment of Crete (IL) Crete-Monee wide receiver LaQuon Treadwell falls through. (Highlights.)
Cleveland (OH) Glenville OG Marcelys Jones: Jones is a 6'4", 325 lb. offensive guard prospect from the class of 2014. He does not have a Michigan offer, but he has been offered by Indiana and Ohio State; a Michigan offer might not be too far in the future. Glenville is the alma mater of sophomore defensive end Frank Clark and freshman defensive tackle Willie Henry.
Cincinnati (OH) La Salle WR Derek Kief: Kief is a 6'5", 185 lb. receiver from the class of 2014. He already has offers from Cincinnati, Illinois, and Indiana, among others. As a sophomore in 2011, he had 48 catches for 680 yards (14.1 yards/catch) and 10 touchdowns. He's a taller guy with good ball skills, sort of like Jaron Dukes with a little more speed. (Highlights.)
Muskegon (MI) Muskegon OG Malik King: King is a 6'4", 275 lb. offensive guard.
Huber Heights (OH) Wayne CB Tyree Kinnel: Kinnel is a 5'11", 170 lb. corner from the class of 2014. He does not have any offers at this time. He also visited Michigan last weekend for the Illinois game, and (Highlights.)
Wexford (PA) North Allegheny C Patrick Kugler: Kugler committed to Michigan back in February. This is his official visit.
Red Oak (TX) Red Oak S Ronnie Larue: Larue is a 6'0", 185 lb. high school quarterback who is being looked at by Michigan to play strong safety. The 2014 prospect claims a 4.58 forty and a 4.03 shuttle time, as well as a 280 lb. bench; those numbers are pretty impressive for a small-ish high school quarterback. (Highlights.)
Cleveland (OH) Glenville WR Marshon Lattimore: Lattimore is a 6'0", 175 lb. wideout with offers from Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Michigan, and others. He attends Ohio State pipeline Glenville, but Michigan has made inroads at the school in the past couple recruiting classes. (Highlights.)
Detroit (MI) Cass Tech CB Jourdan Lewis: Lewis committed to Michigan back in February. This is his official visit.
Westerville (OH) South TE Darryl Long: Long is a 6'4", 220 lb. tight end from the 2014 class. He plays some wide receiver in high school, but he'll likely move to tight end; at Michigan he would probably be a U-back like Devin Funchess. Long's lone offer so far is from Ohio. (Highlights.)
Woodbridge (VA) Woodbridge QB Mike Majette: Majette is a 5'10", 176 lb. quarterback from the class of 2015. He's the teammate of 2014 defensive prospect of Da'Shawn Hand. He already has an offer from West Virginia, but he's likely a little small (at this point) to be considered a legitimate prospect to play quarterback at Michigan. Michigan would likely look at him more as a defensive back. UPDATE: Majett is no longer planning to attend Saturday's game. (Highlights.)
Trotwood (OH) Trotwood-Madison WR Kendric Mallory: Mallory is a 6'2", 174 lb. receiver in the class of 2014. He has an offer from Illinois and is the teammate of 2013 Michigan linebacker commit Mike McCray. (Highlights.)
Trotwood (OH) Trotwood-Madison LB Mike McCray II: McCray committed to Michigan back in February. This is his official visit.
Warren (MI) De La Salle QB Shane Morris: Morris committed to Michigan in May of 2011. This is Morris's official visit.
Monroeville (PA) Gateway S Montae Nicholson: Nicholson is a 6'2", 200 lb. safety from the class of 2014. He has visited Michigan previously and earned an offer at Michigan's summer camp back in June; he also has offers from Ohio State, Penn State, Rutgers, and West Virginia, among others. Nicholson would likely play strong safety at a place like Michigan. (Highlight.)
Monroeville (PA) Gateway WR Ricky Rogers: Rogers is a 6'2", 192 lb. receiver from the class of 2014. He already has offers from Pitt, Rutgers, and West Virginia. Rogers has some speed and the ability to go up and get the ball, but he's not an upper echelon talent. He may earn an offer down the road, but I don't think he's a guy that Michigan will offer this early in the process. (Highlight.)
Tarpon Springs (FL) East Lake WR Artavis Scott: Scott is a 5'11", 180 lb. receiver from the class of 2014. His teammate is Mason Cole, an offensive tackle with a Michigan offer. So far Scott has offers from Florida, Florida State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and West Virginia, among others. I think there's a very strong chance that Michigan offers Scott on the visit, though I doubt he would jump on the opportunity to commit.
Marion (OH) Harding RB L.J. Scott: Scott is a 5'10", 210 lb. running back prospect with an offer from Kent State; he also reportedly has an offer from the Wolverines, though that might not be a "committable" offer. He's a 2014 prospect who had 1,000 yards and 8 touchdowns as a sophomore in 2011. (Highlights.)
Novi (MI) Catholic Central RB Wyatt Shallman: Shallman committed to Michigan back in February.
Cleveland (OH) Glenville S Erick Smith: Smith is a 6'1", 185 lb. safety prospect for the class of 2014. His lone offer at this point is from Georgia Tech. I would not be surprised to see him earn a Michigan offer in the future, although he might not be a guy who needs to be offered right this instant. (Highlights.)
Middletown (OH) Middletown TE Chance Sorrell: Sorrell is a 6'6", 229 lb. tight end prospect from the class of 2014. He has no offers at this point, and he suffered a broken ankle this season, so those offers might not come anytime soon. He's a big kid who looks a bit like Craig Roh on the field, a good-but-not-great athlete. I don't think he'll be offered by Michigan at this stage, but he could be an option down the road. (Highlights.)
Sylvania (OH) Southview DT Ryan Stout: Stout is a 6'5", 245 lb. defensive tackle prospect from the class of 2014. He has offers from Akron, Bowling Green, and Toledo. Southview is the alma mater of freshman safety Allen Gant. In his first five games this season, Stout had 45 tackles, 8 tackles for loss, and 5 sacks. (Highlights.)
Louisville (KY) Central S Donald Styles: Styles is a 5'10", 180 lb. safety prospect without any offers at this time. However, he's a solid hitter with decent speed, and he looks to me like an FBS prospect, though maybe not fast enough for elite level offers. (Highlights.)
Ottawa (IL) Marquette LS Scott Sypniewski: Sypniewski committed to Michigan in June.
Alliance (OH) Marlington S Dymonte Thomas: Thomas committed to Michigan last year. Here's a look at how his senior year is going. This is his official visit.
Monroeville (PA) Gateway TE/LB Brenon Thrift: Thrift is a 6'3", 230 lb. prospect for 2014. He already has offers from Pitt and West Virginia. He visited Michigan back in the summer, but WVU is his current leader. (Highlights.)
Peoria (IL) Manual OT Logan Tuley-Tillman: Tuley-Tillman committed to Michigan back in February. This is his official visit.
Crete (IL) Crete-Monee WR LaQuon Treadwell: I scouted Treadwell prior to the beginning of the 2012 season, and nothing he's done as a senior has diminished my thoughts on him. He's one of the top few receivers in the country and has the ability to be a possession guy or a big-play guy, whichever type is needed for the program. UPDATE: Treadwell did not make it to Ann Arbor.
Chicago (IL) Hales Franciscan OT Denzel Ward: Ward is a 6'9", 295 lb. offensive tackle from the class of 2014 who was offered by Michigan when he visited Ann Arbor last weekend. There's some buzz about him possibly committing this weekend, although he said after last weekend's visit that he wanted to consider his options and have a discussion with his parents. There's no film on him yet, so I have no analysis on how he plays the game. He also has an offer from Purdue.
Detroit (MI) Cass Tech CB Damon Webb: Webb is a 5'11", 170 lb. prospect from the class of 2014. LSU, Michigan, Michigan State, and Ohio State are all major players in his recruitment, though LSU and Michigan seem to be out front. He could also play wide receiver at the next level, though his physicality suggests that he has a higher ceiling on defense.
Detroit (MI) Cass Tech RB Mikey Weber: Weber is a 5'10", 195 lb. prospect from the class of 2015. He was hurt as a freshman and for part of this season, but there's some buzz around him due to the speed he has showcased at times. He has no offers at this point, but a sophomore running back with his speed and physical development is likely to get some good looks at Cass Tech soon.
Detroit (MI) Country Day QB Tyler Wiegers: Wiegers is a 6'4", 197 lb. quarterback from the class of 2014 who holds offers from Toledo and Western Michigan. He doesn't have the best arm and isn't a great athlete, but I like the way Wiegers commands the offense and his accuracy, and he also has a decent arm. If Michigan is going to take a guy in 2014 who's a backup type, I think Wiegers could fill that role. He's not a superstar and isn't a guy who will unite the fan base like Shane Morris, but that might not be what the coaches are looking for in 2014. (Highlights.)
Minster (OH) Minster TE Ethan Wolf: Wolf is a 6'6", 221 lb. prospect for the class of 2014. He has offers from Cincinnati, Illinois, and Toledo, among others. As a sophomore in 2011, he had 20 receptions for 392 yards.
Harper Woods (MI) Chandler Park Academy WR Csont'e York: York committed to Michigan back in May. This is York's official visit.

Visitors: Michigan vs. Air Force
![]() |
| LaQuon Treadwell |
- Detroit (MI) Cass Tech defensive end Joshua Alabi. Alabi is a 6'4", 245 lb. defensive end from the class of 2015.
- Nashville (TN) Montgomery Bell offensive tackle Alex Bars. Bars is a 6'6", 255 lb. kid who doubles as a defensive end, but Michigan has offered the 2014 prospect as an offensive tackle. His brother is Michigan true freshman Blake Bars, but he also has a brother at Penn State.
- Pickerington (OH) North tight end Jake Butt. Butt is already committed to Michigan.
- Detroit (MI) Cass Tech quarterback Jayru Campbell. The 6'3", 175 lb. Campbell led Cass Tech to a state championship last year despite being just a freshman. He has offers from Alabama and Notre Dame already. (Highlights.)
- Detroit (MI) Cass Tech offensive tackle/guard David Dawson. Dawson is already committed to Michigan.
- Grand Rapids (MI) Christian offensive tackle Tommy Doles. Doles is a class of 2014 kid who has visited Michigan multiple times and lists them among his leaders. Iowa State is the only other team to offer so far.
- Detroit (MI) Cass Tech running back/linebacker Deon Drake. Drake is a 6'1", 215-pounder with offers from Iowa, Michigan State, Nebraska, and Notre Dame, among others. (Highlights.)
- Muskergon (MI) Muskegon offensive guard Kenny Finley. Finley is a 6'4", 270 lb. guard from the 2014 class with zero offers. Muskegon is typically a good program, but no Wolverine has come out of there since Terrance Taylor.
- Detroit (MI) East English Village tight end Khalid Hill. Hill committed to Michigan back in February.
- Detroit (MI) Cass Tech running back/linebacker Gary Hosey. Hosey is a 6'0", 230 lb. back from the class of 2014. He has zero offers at this point, but Michigan has discussed recruiting him at running back; I don't think he has the speed to be an elite prospect. (Highlights.)
- Trotwood (OH) Trotwood-Madison linebacker Mike McCray II. McCray is already committed to Michigan.
- Macomb (MI) Lutheran North kicker J.J. McGrath. McGrath has zero offers at this point, but offers usually come later for kickers than other positions.
- Warren (OH) Howland running back DeVeon Smith. Smith is already committed to Michigan.
- Middletown (OH) Middletown tight end Chance Sorrell. Sorrell is a 6'6", 225-pounder from the class of 2014 without any offers so far. Michigan has offered three other tight ends in the class, but Nic Weisher seems to be the only viable option of those three.
- Crete (IL) Crete-Monee wide receiver LaQuon Treadwell. Treadwell is Michigan's top target at wide receiver for the class of 2013; likewise, Michigan has reportedly been at the top of his list for most or all of his recruitment. He has visited Ann Arbor several times before, but he also has serious interest in other schools, including pass-happy Oklahoma State. EDIT: Treadwell is no longer visiting Michigan this weekend. (Highlights.)
- Detroit (MI) Cass Tech wide receiver/cornerback Damon Webb, a 2014 prospect, will be visiting. Webb has been offered by Michigan and his leaders are the Wolverines, LSU, Michigan State, and Ohio State. Webb transferred to Cass Tech prior to this season, so his bond with other Michigan-bound players from that school (David Dawson, Jourdan Lewis, Royce Jenkins-Stone, Terry Richardson, etc.) may not be as strong. (Highlights.)
- Detroit (MI) Cass Tech linebacker William White. White is a 6'1", 220 lb. linebacker from the class of 2014. He has zero offers at this point, but some will likely be coming down the road. (Highlights.)
- Harper Woods (MI) Chandler Park wide receiver Csont'e York. York is already committed to Michigan.

Scouting Report: Laquon Treadwell
![]() |
| Crete (IL) Crete-Monee wide receiver Laquon Treadwell |
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 183 lbs.
Class: 2013
Position: Wide receiver
School: Crete (IL) Crete-Monee
Notes: Holds offers from Alabama, Arizona State, Arkansas, Auburn, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, USC, Vanderbilt . . . As a junior in 2011, caught 75 passes for 1,400 yards and 18 touchdowns . . . As a sophomore in 2010, caught 49 passes for 815 yards and 7 touchdowns . . . Rivals 4-star WR, #5 WR, #31 overall . . . Scout 4-star WR, #11 WR, #76 overall . . . 247 Sports 4-star WR, 94 grade, #8 WR, #75 overall . . . Claims 225 lb. bench, 415 lb. squat . . . High school teammate of former 2012 Michigan commit Anthony Standifer (now committed to Mississippi)
Strengths: Good size at 6'3", similar to 2012 recruit Jehu Chesson . . . Frame to fill out to 210-215 lbs. . . . Good straight-line speed . . . Gets upfield quickly after catching short passes . . . Shifty but not a dancer . . . Quick feet for a tall kid . . . Plays in a pass-happy offense that gives him lots of reps catching the ball . . . Solid runner after catch . . . Runs with good body lean . . . Strong enough runner to break arm tackles . . . Willing blocker but needs to work on technique
Weaknesses: Plays in a somewhat simple passing offense . . . Needs to improve route running/footwork . . . A bit of a body catcher . . . Might not have enough elite speed to blow past good corners, but should be effective on posts, deep in routes, etc.
Projection: Wide receiver. Treadwell is one of the top few receivers I've seen in the class. He's not exceptional in any one area, but he doesn't have any major deficiencies. With his size he should be a good red zone threat, but the one thing I would like to see is his leaping ability and whether he can catch the ball away from his body. He should be a very good college player, though.
Reminds me of: Greg Mathews (but significantly faster) [EDIT: The more I think about it, David Terrell seems to be a better comparison.]

Class of 2013 Wish List: Offense
![]() |
| One guy we both agreed on was Warren (MI) De La Salle quarterback Shane Morris |
QUARTERBACK (Need = 1)
Touch the Banner: Warren (MI) De La Salle quarterback Shane Morris is already on board, and he's one of the top two or three quarterbacks in the country. Based on his talent and how much he loves Michigan, he's my pick to fill this spot.
Tremendous: Shane Morris - Doesn't really need much of an explanation. Turn to my interview if necessary. This kid has the physical and mental qualities to play quarterback for Michigan. The only question, and one that can't be answered yet, is how he'll respond to getting continuously hit throughout the long run of a full college football season.
RUNNING BACK (Need = 2)
Tremendous: Ty Isaac, Deveon Smith - Isaac is explosive and the type of home-run hitter that Michigan has lacked for quite some time now. He does run a bit upright, but the upside is too much to ignore here. He could contribute quickly, too. Deveon Smith is a tackle-breaking machine who has good vision/cuts in between the tackles. Both of his brothers struggled in college but I don't expect that to be the case with Deveon. Keith Ford would look good here, too, but despite the recent update I did on him, I don't expect him to end up at Michigan.
Touch the Banner: Michigan needs a big-play guy, and I think Stockton (CA) Lincoln's Justin Davis could be that guy. He's 6'1", 195 lbs. and could be the lightning to Cypress (TX) Cypress Ranch's Keith Ford's thunder. Both can make big plays, unlike a couple offerees who look like pound-the-rock type guys only.
FULLBACK (Need = 0)
Michigan doesn't need anyone here.
WIDE RECEIVER (Need = 2)
Touch the Banner: Louisville (KY) Trinity wideout James Quick would be #1 on my list because of his gamebreaking ability. He's similar to former Michigan wide receiver Steve Breaston because he's a skinny guy who can take it the distance at any given time. Crete (IL) Crete-Monee's Laquon Treadwell is a big, physical kid who also has a little bit of speed and can stretch the field. Michigan could use a couple big-time receivers to pair with Morris.
Tremendous: Jaron Dukes, Laquon Treadwell - Dukes loves Michigan and has the physical tools necessary to fit the old Michigan receiver mold. He's a bit of a project, but kids who love the program and want to be here are the types of kids that tend to succeed at Michigan. Treadwell is a five-star talent. Not much else to be said about him.
TIGHT END (Need = 2)
Touch the Banner: Camp Hill (PA) Cedar Cliff tight end Adam Breneman is considered by many to be the nation's top tight end for the 2013 class, and again it would be nice to find a good passing target for Morris. Breneman is the type of tight end who could do damage as a traditional tight end or lined up in the slot. Meanwhile, Pickerington (OH) North Pickerington's Jake Butt is a tough, physical kid who has some good athleticism. And if things didn't work out on offense, he has the athletic ability and demeanor to help out on defense, too.
Tremendous: Jake Butt, Adam Breneman - Butt is a likely commit who seems to be somewhat of a rising star within the rankings. I'd still say Breneman is better, but Butt has the frame to bulk up and remains quick enough on his feet for his size to do real damage in the passing game. Breneman is the real deal, a potential Gronk clone if he builds up properly. No reason not to choose a guy like him. Fast as hell for a TE, but more than big enough to block up front.
OFFENSIVE LINE (Need = 5)
Tremendous: Logan Tuley-Tillman, Chris Fox, Kyle Bosch, David Dawson, Laremy Tunsil - Four of these lineman are obvious choices based on ability alone. We really love Dawson though; he's a pancake machine who would be an epic addition to the run blocking game. The good news? Outside of Tunsil, Michigan has a good shot at all four of these guys.
Touch the Banner: I'm going to take one guy for each position. Give me Lake City (FL) Columbia's Laremy Tunsil at left tackle, Dallas (TX) Bishop Dunne left guard Ishmael Wilson, Parker (CO) Ponderosa right guard Chris Fox, and Lemont (IL) Lemont right tackle Ethan Pocic. And then I'll take Wheaton (IL) St. Francis's Kyle Bosch and move him inside to center, just because Michigan needs a center and I think Bosch could handle it.

Weekend Visitors: February 10-12, 2012
![]() |
| Laquon Treadwell will be in Ann Arbor this weekend (image via 247 Sports) |
St. Louis (MO) DeSmet OT Andy Bauer (2014)
Bauer is only a sophomore in high school, but he was named a sophomore All-American and First Team All-Missouri. He's 6'5" and 290 lbs., benches 315 lbs., and reports a 500 lb. squat. Those are amazing numbers for a high school sophomore. Bauer has not yet been offered by the Wolverines, but a verbal offer might be forthcoming. Class of 2012 wide receiver Durron Neal, who was offered by Michigan but chose Oklahoma, also goes to DeSmet.
Columbus (OH) Marion Franklin WR Jaron Dukes
Despite growing up in the heart of Buckeye country, Dukes grew up as a Michigan fan. The 6'4", 195 lb. Dukes received a Michigan offer last week and has been rumored to be a candidate to make an early commitment to the Wolverines.
Parker (CO) Ponderosa OT Chris Fox
Much like Dukes (except without living in such a horrible state), Fox grew up as a Michigan fan. He's 6'6", 297 lbs. and really impressed at several camps last summer. Colorado, Iowa, Ohio State, and Purdue have also offered Fox. He looks like a guard or perhaps a right tackle to me, but either way, 247 Sports rates him the #44 player nationally and Rivals rates him at #46.
Novi (MI) Catholic Central RB Wyatt Shallman
Shallman's recruitment has been well documented here (a scouting report, for example). Most experts believe he'll be a Wolverine sooner or later. Meanwhile, Shallman was recently named the 160th-best prospect in the country, according to Rivals.
Crete (IL) Crete-Monee WR Laquon Treadwell
Treadwell is a 6'3", 183 lb. wideout whose teammate is former Michigan commit Anthony Standifer. Treadwell had 75 catches for 1,400 yards and 18 touchdowns as a junior, and Michigan was the first school to offer him. He has since earned offers from Ohio State and USC, along with several others.
Peoria (IL) Manual OT Logan Tuley-Tillman
Tuley-Tillman is a 6'7", 280 lb. offensive tackle who mentioned several times that Michigan was a childhood favorite. He has since been offered by Alabama (and many others) and recently stated that the Wolverines and Crimson Tide are neck-and-neck on top of his offer list. He's the #84 player overall to 247 Sports and #109 overall to Rivals.

Anthony Standifer, ex-Wolverine
![]() |
| 2013 prospect LaQuon Treadwell and 2012 prospect Anthony Standifer |
Back at the beginning of June, Crete (IL) Crete-Monee cornerback Anthony Standifer committed to Michigan. At the time the recruiting services hadn't really picked up on him yet, despite the fact that he had offers from decent schools like Iowa, Michigan, and Notre Dame. As of this morning, Standifer is a 3-star to all four major recruiting services, and anywhere from the #28 to #46 cornerback.
He remained committed for the past several months and seemed strongly interested in coming to Ann Arbor, but a few days ago, it all started to fall apart. Michigan and Standifer have made a mutual decision to part ways, although rumors suggest that it was due to some academic shortcomings on Standifer's part.
To fill the open spot at cornerback, Michigan has recently re-established contact with West Roxbury (MA) Catholic Memorial's Armani Reeves and continued to pursue Ramsey (NJ) Don Bosco Prep's Yuri Wright. Reeves is currently committed to Penn State but is wary of the coaching situation. Wright has often said that Michigan is his dream school, but he has yet to visit.
It's unclear where Standifer will end up playing ball, but there is another player who factors into the situation: 2013 wide receiver LaQuon Treadwell. Treadwell is Standifer's teammate and seemed like he would commit to Michigan at some point. Without Standifer in Ann Arbor, that might make Treadwell's commitment less likely. While he has stated that the news about Standifer won't affect his recruitment, I have to wonder if that will hold true or not. Treadwell has picked up offers from Indiana, Nebraska, and Notre Dame to go along with his Michigan offer.

Visitors for the Ohio State Game
![]() |
| Shane Morris, Bri'onte Dunn, and Dymonte Thomas were in attendance for last week's victory against Nebraska and will be in town again for the Ohio State game. (image via Twitter) |
Fenton (MI) Fenton P Kenny Allen: A preferred walk-on who's committed to Michigan.
Terre Haute (IN) North Vigo TE Calvin Blank: Blank is a 6'4", 226 lb. prospect from the class of 2013. He holds an offer from Toledo.
Pickerington (OH) North DE Jake Butt: Butt is a 6'6", 220 lb. prospect from the class of 2013. He holds offers from Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, Northwestern, Purdue, and UCLA.
St. Louis (MI) Ladue Horton Watkins WR Jehu Chesson: Chesson is a 6'3", 182-pounder who holds an offer from Michigan, along with several other BCS schools.
West Des Moines (IA) Dowling Catholic WR Amara Darboh: Darboh is a 6'2", 180 lb. prospect who will be taking his official visit to Ann Arbor this weekend. It has long been rumored that Darboh would probably commit to Michigan shortly after his official visit, so he's on commitment watch.
Chicago (IL) Simeon OT Jordan Diamond: Diamond is a 6'6", 289 lb. prospect with an impressive offer list. His teammate Chris Bryant is a true freshman guard for the Wolverines, and Michigan held an early lead before Diamond slowed down his recruitment and visited other schools. At this point there is no clear leader.
Canton (OH) Glenoak RB Bri'onte Dunn: Dunn is a 6'3", 215 lb. prospect who's current committed to Ohio State. The potential sanctions in Columbus might be problematic for Dunn, who would fit in well in a power running offense. The rumor mill suggests that the hiring of Urban Meyer would be a negative for Dunn, since Meyer doesn't have much of a track record for developing backs like him.
Farmington Hills (MI) Harrison TE Devin Funchess: Funchess is committed to Michigan.
Sylvania (OH) Southview S Allen Gant: Gant is committed to Michigan.
Puyallup (WA) Puyallup OG Joshua Garnett: Garnett is a 6'5", 275 lb. prospect with offers from all over the country. He is friendly with Michigan commit Erik Magnuson, who has been working on Garnett to get him to Ann Arbor.
Hudson (OH) Hudson LB Ben Gedeon: Gedeon is a 6'2", 215 lb. prospect from the class of 2013. He holds offers from Boston College, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, and Tennessee.
Birmingham (MI) Seaholm OT Dan Gibbs: Gibbs is a 6'7", 320 lb. prospect with offers from Ball State and Eastern Michigan.
Ann Arbor (MI) Pioneer RB Drake Johnson: Johnson is committed to Michigan.
Shaker Heights (OH) Shake Heights WR/TE De'Niro Laster: Laster is a 6'3", 215 lb. prospect from the class of 2013. He holds offers from Akron, Bowling Green, and Temple.
Carlsbad (CA) La Costa Canyon OT Erik Magnuson: Magnuson is committed to Michigan.
Warren (MI) De La Salle QB Shane Morris: Morris is committed to Michigan for the class of 2013.
Farmington Hills (MI) Harrison DE Mario Ojemudia: Ojemudia is committed to Michigan.
Austintown (OH) Fitch DE Billy Price: Price is a 6'4", 280 lb. prospect from the class of 2013. He holds offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Tennessee, UCLA, and West Virginia, among others.
Cincinnati (OH) Oak Hills OG Caleb Stacey: Stacey is committed to Michigan.
Crete (IL) Crete-Monet CB Anthony Standifer: Standifer is committed to Michigan.
Alliance (OH) Marlington S Dymonte Thomas: Thomas is committed to Michigan for the class of 2013.
Toledo (OH) Central Catholic S Jayme Thompson: Thompson is a 6'2", 184 lb. prospect from the class of 2013. He holds offers from Bowling Green, Buffalo, and Temple.
Crete (IL) Crete-Monee WR LaQuon Treadwell: Treadwell is a 6'3", 183 lb. prospect from the class of 2013. He holds offers from Michigan and Notre Dame.
Peoria (IL) Manual OT Logan Tuley-Tillman: Tuley-Tillman is a 6'7", 280 lb. prospect from the class of 2013. He holds offers from Illinois and Indiana.
Tyrone (GA) Sandy Creek CB Shaq Wiggins: Wiggins is a 5'10", 160 lb. prospect from the class of 2013. He holds offers from Cincinnati, Ohio State, Tennessee, and Wake Forest, among others.
Cincinnati (OH) Sycamore TE A.J. Williams: Williams is committed to Michigan.

Visitors for the Nebraska Game
![]() |
| Bri'onte Dunn will be visiting Michigan this weekend. |
Fenton (MI) Fenton P Kenny Allen: Allen is a 6'3", 175 lb. punter who has already committed to walking on at Michigan next fall. He had a scholarship offer from Oregon State but didn't want to be called a Beaver for the rest of his life.
Cincinnati (OH) Colerain LB Joe Bolden: Bolden is a 6'2", 225 lb. middle linebacker who will enroll at Michigan in January.
Wheaton (IL) St. Francis OT Kyle Bosch: Bosch is a 6'5", 275 lb. offensive tackle from the class of 2013. He was offered by the Wolverines a few weeks back and visited Michigan in September.
Canton (OH) Glenoak RB Bri'onte Dunn: Dunn is a 6'2", 215 lb. running back who is currently "committed" to Ohio State unless the NCAA drops a bomb on Columbus, which should happen but you never know. Penn State is a distant third to OSU and Michigan. Dunn's cousin is 2013 safety Dymonte Thomas, who will also be visiting Ann Arbor this weekend.
Chelsea (MI) Chelsea RB Berkley Edwards: Edwards is a 5'8", 165 lb. running back from the class of 2013. He's the younger brother of Braylon Edwards and the son of Stan Edwards, who played wide receiver and running back, respectively, at Michigan. He currently has no scholarship offers.
Farmington Hills (MI) Harrison TE Devin Funchess: Funchess is a 6'5", 205 lb. tight end who will be signing with Michigan in February.
Sylvania (OH) Southview S Allen Gant: Gant is a 6'2", 210 lb. safety who will be signing with Michigan in February.
Birmingham (MI) Seaholm OT Dan Gibbs: Gibbs is a 6'7", 320 lb. offensive tackle who caused me to get some angry e-mails when I mentioned him last because I stated that he wasn't a Michigan-level recruit. According to an e-mailer who will remain anonymous, offensive line coach Darrell Funk has remained in contact with Gibbs throughout the recruiting process. I can only assume this would be in the hopes of convincing him to walk on.
Naperville (IL) North OG Colin Goebel: Goebel is a 6'4", 275 lb. offensive guard from the class of 2013. He's the younger cousin of Ohio State defensive tackle Garrett Goebel. Colin has offers from Eastern Michigan, Northern Illinois, and Toledo. He has good size but doesn't move his feet extremely well. BCS offers are almost certainly on the way, but he'll probably have to move from his high school position (offensive tackle) to guard.
Ann Arbor (MI) Pioneer RB Drake Johnson: Johnson is a 6'1", 200 lb. running back who will have to walk all the way across the street to get to Michigan Stadium.
Muskegon (MI) Muskegon RB Juwan Lewis: Lewis is a 5'11", 208 lb. fullback/tailback whose heart probably sank when Drake Johnson received his offer. Lewis had been holding out for an offer from the Wolverines, but that probably won't happen now. Hopefully Lewis enjoys Michigan Stadium while he can.
Grand Blanc (MI) Grand Blanc DE Luke MacLean: MacLean is a 6'3", 233 lb. defensive end from the class of 2013. He was a high school teammate of freshman running back Justice Hayes.
Campbell (OH) Memorial DT Shaquon McWilson: McWilson is a 6'3", 290 lb. defensive tackle from the class of 2013. Information on McWilson is scarce, but I'm guessing he's Scottish.
Toledo (OH) St. John's DE Matt Miller: Miller is a 6'5", 250 lb. defensive end from the class of 2013. He already has an offer from Toledo, and he's the younger brother of freshman center Jack Miller.
Warren (MI) De La Salle QB Shane Morris: Morris is a 6'3", 183 lb. quarterback from the class of 2013. He's planning to sign with Michigan in February . . . of 2013.
Cadillac (MI) Cadillac OT Riley Norman: Norman is a 6'7", 315 lb. offensive tackle from the class of 2013. His only current offer is from Michigan State, and Norman is expected to end up in East Lansing, regardless of who else offers.
Farmington Hills (MI) Harrison DE Mario Ojemudia: Ojemudia is a 6'3", 215 lb. defensive end who will sign with Michigan in February.
Warren (OH) Harding WR Jalyn Powell: Powell is a 6'1", 185 lb. athlete from the class of 2013. He could play wide receiver, cornerback, or safety at the next level. Harding has produced several prospects who went to Michigan, including Mario Manningham and D.J. Williamson. Powell has not received any offers thus far, but he has excellent change-of-direction skills and knows what to do with the ball in his hands. I would not be surprised to see Michigan offer him at some point, for either side of the ball.
Clayton (OH) Northmont LB Kaleb Ringer: Ringer is a 6'0", 219 lb. linebacker who will enroll at Michigan in January.
Cincinnati (OH) Oak Hills OG Caleb Stacey: Stacey is a 6'4", 275 lb. offensive lineman who will sign with Michigan in February.
Crete (IL) Crete-Monee CB Anthony Standifer: Standifer is a 6'1", 178 lb. cornerback who will sign with Michigan in February.
Alliance (OH) Marlington S Dymonte Thomas: Thomas is a 5'11", 167 lb. safety who will sign with Michigan in February of 2013.
Beverly Hills (MI) Country Day DT Poet Thomas: Thomas is a 6'6", 295 lb. defensive tackle from the class of 2013. He has visited Michigan and Notre Dame up to this point but has no offers. Based purely on his size, he's bound to get some BCS offers, but he's not an elite athlete at his position.
Toledo (OH) Central Catholic S Jayme Thompson: Thompson is a 6'2", 184 lb. safety from the class of 2013. He visited Michigan for the Purdue game a few weeks ago. He only has offers from a couple MAC schools and West Virginia, but unfounded rumors popped up a couple days ago that he had been offered by Michigan. That offer might be coming soon, though.
Crete (IL) Crete-Monee WR Laquon Treadwell: Treadwell is a 6'3", 183 lb. wide receiver from the class of 2013. His high school teammate is 2012 commit Anthony Standifer. Treadwell has offers from both Michigan and Notre Dame, and others will be on their way. He's been rated early as a 4-star prospect.
Peoria (IL) Manual OT Logan Tuley-Tillman: Tuley-Tillman is a 6'7", 280 lb. offensive tackle from the class of 2013. He already holds offers from Illinois and Indiana.
Cincinnati (OH) Sycamore TE A.J. Williams: Williams is a 6'6", 260 lb. tight end who will sign with Michigan in February.
Akron (OH) Buchtel S Jarrod Wilson: Wilson is a 6'2", 190 lb. safety who will enroll at Michigan in January.

S Allen Gant and the Southview Cougars (9-1) defeated Northview by a score of 35-6.
DL Matt Godin and Detroit Catholic Central (9-1) hosted Northville on Saturday and blew them out, 56-6, in a first round division playoff game. Matt texted that he recorded 10 tackles and 4 QB hurries.
FB Sione Houma's Highland Rams (7-3) defeated Maple Mountain by a score of 42-20 to advance to the second round of the 4A state playoffs. Houma, who has been injured for a large portion of the season, appears to have regained his health. On Friday, he rushed for 205 yards on only 13 carries and scored 4 touchdowns.
LB Royce Jenkins-Stone and Detroit Cass Tech (7-3) got back to playing dominating football on Friday, pounding Livonia Churchill, 35-6. Next, they take on Dearborn Fordson in a Division 1 district final. Jenkins-Stone recorded 4 tackles and a sack to go with a 4-yard touchdown run.
OL Kyle Kalis and the Lakewood-St. Edwards Eagles (7-3) were plagued by turnovers and lost the "Holy War" against St. Ignatius by a score of 20-17. 11,000 people were reported to have attended the game.
OL Erik Magnuson and his team the La Costa Canyon Mavericks (6-2) won a 21-16 contest against Oceanside.
2013 QB Shane Morris and Warren De La Salle (8-2) defeated Roseville by a score of 48-14. Surprisingly, I couldn't find Morris' official stats, but "BrendanDavis22" went to the game and posted on the MGoBoard that Shane went 13-16 with 2 touchdowns and 0 picks but also dinged up his throwing hand a bit.
DL Mario Ojemudia and Farmington Hills Harrison (9-0) defeated Birmingham Seaholm by a score of 35-0. If you feel like shelling out a couple bucks, Mr. Tom VH has an article on Harrison and their pursuit of another state title.
DT Ondre Pipkins and his Park Hill Trojans (5-5) lost a 24-6 contest against Central.
CB Terry Richardson and Detroit Cass Tech (7-3) defeated Livonia Churchill, 35-6.

OL Caleb Stacey and Oak Hills (4-5) were defeated by Serrano, 21-14.
CB Anthony Standifer and his Crete-Monee (10-0) team defeated Bloomington, 63-14, to remain undefeated on the season. Standifer sat out the game with a dislocated shoulder, but teammate Laquon Treadwell, a 2013 wide receiver prospect, caught 3 touchdown passes, finishing with 6 catches for 119 yards. Treadwell even made an impact from the defensive end position, recording 1.5 sacks. "Playing defensive end helps with my hands and has made me a more aggressive player...I'm more physical now when I'm blocking," Treadwell said.
DE Tom Strobel and his Mentor team (9-1) lost their first game of the season by a score of 38-35 against Twinsburg.
2013 S Dymonte Thomas and Marlington (7-2) won a 27-23 contest against Alliance.
TE AJ Williams and Sycamore (8-2) lost a 41-13 contest against Mason.
S Jarrod Wilson and his Akron squad Buchtel (6-4) won a 34-0 contest against Firestone. Wilson had his "best game of the season," blocking a punt, making an interception and catching a TD pass. When asked about Wilson, Coach Ricky Powers said, "he's going to Michigan. Need I say anything else?"
DL Christopher Wormley and the Toledo Whitmer Panthers (8-0) defeated Catholic Central by a score of 38-21. Ace was at the game and tweeted that Wormley was "active and aggressive...too much so at times...had a strong second half." Josh Helmholdt from rivals was at the game, too, and tweeted that Wormley was "aggressive," but he "needs to do a better job of diagnosing plays"
Stats will be updated as they're found. Please let us know if you have any additional information for the compilation. Thanks!

Recruiting Update: October 12, 2011
ADDED TO THE BOARD
Castle Rock (CO) Valor Christian OG Alex Kozan was offered by Michigan this past week. Kozan is a class of 2012 recruit, which seems to mean that the coaching staff isn't confident about their chances with Puyallup (WA) Puyallup OG Joshua Garnett. Garnett is clearly the superior player. Kozan looks like an old school Michigan guard, the kind that Lloyd Carr and Gary Moeller would have loved but that Rich Rodriguez wouldn't have touched. He's 6'4", 295 lbs. and plays with a nice, wide base, but he's a little bit stiff. Rivals lists him as the #28 offensive tackle in the country, but he looks to me like a guard all the way. He's decently nasty and moves his feet pretty well, but he's built for a team that wants to pound the ball.
Crete (IL) Crete-Monee WR Laquon Treadwell, a 2013 prospect, was offered by Michigan yesterday. Treadwell is a 6'3", 190 lb. receiver who is teammates with 2012 cornerback and Michigan commit Anthony Standifer. This is Treadwell's first offer and he has stated several times that Michigan would be his leader if they offered. Of course, we heard that same type of comment from Chicago (IL) Simeon OL Jordan Diamond earlier this year, and Diamond has so far held off on committing to anyone and looks less and less likely to join Michigan's class. There's very little video of Treadwell on the internet, so it's tough to get a feel for where he stands as a prospect. Crete-Monee's competition level is fairly low when compared to some other areas that Michigan has recruited heavily, so while Treadwell has been very productive this season, his statistics should be taken with a grain of salt.
OFF THE BOARD
Flint (MI) Powers Catholic DT Danny O'Brien committed to Tennessee. Before Michigan offered O'Brien, Tennessee was the leader . . . and after Michigan offered, Tennessee never really took a back seat. Michigan did seem to surpass the other schools that were recruiting him, but not the Volunteers. O'Brien is a 6'3", 293 lb. (or more) defensive tackle who could be a 1-tech or 3-tech on the line. I think he's a nose tackle all the way, but others feel he's better suited to a position where he can penetrate. Rumors have been swirling that Michigan's coaches cooled on O'Brien and stopped pushing for his commitment; even before those rumors popped up, I had been hearing that he hadn't been very impressive as a senior. I will be surprised if this one turns out to haunt Michigan down the road. While the Wolverines need another body on the interior to go along with Kansas City (MO) Park Hill DT Ondre Pipkins, I don't imagine O'Brien will be terrorizing the SEC.
