  1. James Wilder Jr. is being recruited as a LB by us?

  2. What are our chances with James Wilder?

  3. @ Anonymous 4:55 p.m.

We have virtually no shot at Wilder, unfortunately.

  4. Hey Thunder,

I'm a big fan of your offer board. Our current count is at 132 with a few uncommitted notables off the top of my head being Errin Joe, Deon Lee, Jermaine McKinney; Jeremy Reynolds.

  5. Thanks, Lance. I appreciate the info and the compliment.

  6. What are our chances with CA S Marqise Lee? I just watched some film on him, he seems to play pretty smart.

  7. From everything I've heard, Marqise Lee is probably going to stay out west in the Pac-10. I don't think you should hold your breath for him, but he's a very good player.

  8. i dont mean to be nit picky(even tho i am being picky) but shouldnt you move wilder jr to RB? im like 95% sure he said he wasnt even considering anyone who offers him as a LB. though i agree(no offense) michigan has absolutely no shot at him.

do u think that michigan is going to pick up a TE this class? scheme wise, michigan is really hard to sell to a TE.

  9. @ Anonymous

Wilder should probably be moved to RB, although Michigan offered him as a linebacker, I believe. Regardless, he's not coming here, so it doesn't matter.

I do think Michigan will get a TE in this class, but it won't be a premier guy. Michigan just doesn't use the tight ends enough anymore to make the team enticing to elite tight ends.

  10. Wither Ed Davis?? I know he is supposed to announce on Wednesday and the tea leaves say Sparty, so I guess that is justification enough to drop him from the list entirely. Disqualified on the grounds of insanity

  11. Typo Alert! I left off the H in whither! If this was an MgoBlog post I would be taking withering abuse from the Grammar Gestapo.

  12. I now see that Ed Davis is appended to Kellen Jones - prophetic?

  13. @ jbibiza

That Kellen JonesEd Davis thing was an accident. I think Davis is headed elsewhere at this point, but I'm glad we got Jones.

  14. What are your thoughts on Lamar Dawson.. do you really think we have that poor of a chance?

    ReplyDelete
  15. @ Anonymous 8:12 a.m.

I should probably move Dawson up, but ultimately, I don't think he'll come to Michigan. I do like what he brings to the table, but Kellen Jones is our MLB of the future. It would be nice to add Dawson, but he'd be gravy at this point.

  16. Suggested updates when you have time:
    AJ Jordan is a Badger
Posada is a commit so Maize him
Zettel is more DE than OG these days
    Crawford more likely than Grant
Walls more likely than Smith (and Smith is proabably a SS or OLB)
Thanks for all the good work and your MGoBlog comments as well. GO BLUE!!

Thanks for the updates. Sometimes these things slip through the cracks.

  18. Looking back at your rating, seems you were more lenient in the past. Don't think you'd give Chris Bryant a 87 if he's a 2013 prospect. And actually, I was trying to look if you've mis-judged any player in the past, and I guess Frank Clark is the big one (I know he actually hasn't really shined, except that freak interception, but given his current hype, seem 57 was too low)..the next would be Raymon Taylor. Of course, generally you are more correct than misses. Thanks for all the informative predictions!

    1. Expectations fluctuate from year to year. If I have a guy who's a 70-ish WILL linebacker in one class (a solid starter) but then a 90-ish uy commits in the next class, there's at least a decent chance that the first guy will get passed on the depth chart. Likewise, Bryant got hurt last year and lost some development time while some younger guys caught/surpassed him.

    2. As for Clark, it was tough to gauge him coming out of high school because he was a skinny kid and he looked to be about 205 lbs. as a senior. He was also pretty undisciplined, and I couldn't tell whether he was going to end up at SAM or WDE (and some people even thought WILL). Raymon Taylor hasn't really proven himself one way or the other, in my opinion. I rated him in the 60's, and the highest anyone could possibly place him right now would be in the 70's. We'll see how he develops as a junior and a senior...

Anyway, I'm glad you enjoy the site. Thanks.

    3. Thanks for the reply! Thought you may not reply to my comment since it is in 2011 offer board. I was trying to see how "accurate" your ratings are, to see what's the excitement I should get from Peppers! And I am really excited now! Thanks for all the hard work and keep going!
