I thought about putting together a post for each of the national awards that Michigan players have won, but that would be a bunch of different posts and a lot to keep udpated. Instead, I've decided to compile a bunch of national awards into one post while listing the Michigan winners and their season.

NOTE: If there are any awards you think I should add, please let me know.

  1. The "Best Tight End" award ... what are the metrics most useful to winning that award? Is it mostly about receiving stats, or do they take into account other contributions, including blocking?

Or put another way: what did Eric All *not* do to get passed over for this?

    1. All had a great year, but it was at Fullback as well as Tight End. We also didn't pass much, at least early on. Next year I would imagine he's got as much a chance as anyone we've had in recent years

    2. It's mostly about receiving stats. Erick All was #7 in the Big Ten in receptions for tight ends. It's hard to justify giving him that award with those mediocre stats (34 catches, 374 yards, 2 TD).

    3. Vastly underrated! Arguably our best and most important player on O.
