2022 Season Countdown: #124 Trevor Andrews

Name: Trevor Andrews
Height:
6'2"
Weight:
218 lbs.
High school:
Brentwood (TN) Ravenwood
Position:
Linebacker
Class:
Redshirt freshman
Jersey number:
#42
Last year:
I did not rank Andrews. He redshirted.
TTB Rating:
N/A

Andrews was a solid high school quarterback who threw for 28 touchdowns as a senior. Of course, it didn't hurt that he was playing with talent around him, including Michigan linebacker Junior Colson and cornerback Myles Pollard. Instead of continuing on offense, Andrews has made the transition to the other side of the ball, where he's undersized and inexperienced at linebacker. He's unlikely to get on the field this fall.

Prediction: Backup linebacker

  1. The LB at Georgia that has oodles of Draft buzz, Nakobe Dean, is 5'11", 229.

    1. Yes, he's 229 lbs. and three inches shorter. Andrews being 6'2" and 218 lbs. for a Big Ten linebacker is way too small. A guy that height needs to be 230-240 pounds.

  2. A couple of his throws were fantastic. I mean, like 100 times better than Alex Orji. There's reasons I don't know about why he is not staying at QB. Of course, Orji is not staying at QB either.
Anyway, there has to be a role for him. He can play the game.

    1. Eh, I think you're shortchanging Orji. Orji made some really nice throws on his highlight film, too. But with his mechanics and whatnot, you can tell (or at least I think we can tell) that he's not going to be a consistently good thrower of the football.

The scary thing is that Jim Harbaugh says Orji is further along as a thrower than Jayden Denegal right now.

    2. You think Nakobe Dean will be switched to S in the pros?

    3. Maybe I am shortchanging Orji. But even some of his easy crossing patters are behind the ear of the receiver.
The transfer portal is still there for him. If Dante Moore or CJ Carr, or both, come here, he and Dengal will probably only play in clean up times.
      But Orji can run.

    4. I don't think Dean will be a safety in the pros. I never like moving guys back in a defense. I do think he needs to be in the right system. He's not a fit for everyone. He's got to have guys in front of him who are going to keep him pretty clean.

    5. clean: I don't know where that happens on a consistent basis. I don't know if I'd risk an early pick on him. And he'd be gone by the late rounds. So I guess that means I wouldn't get him. And that would be ok.

    I'm not surprised.
I don't know if either will be a starter at Michigan.
