MLive: Countess has core surgery, expected back for fall camp

There were rumors this spring that Countess had fallen to a backup role with the emergence of Jourdan Lewis, so perhaps his injury had something to do with that. Either way, I believe Countess is one of the best corners in the conference, if not the best. Hopefully he can be fully healthy by the beginning of the season.

Hit the jump for some good looking girls.

  1. I'm somewhat relieved to learn that Blake had a "dinger" or a thingamabob or whatever Hoke would call it, cuz he did not seem like the shutdown corner we had come to expect and appreciate. I do feel that the studs we are bringing in to the back end of our defense will not only strengthen the position groups, but will also lessen the load a few guys like Blake were pulling alone.

  2. What on earth is a "core injury" and why wait until June to repair it if he got it during the 2013 season?

    1. Speculation is that it's a sports hernia. I'm guessing they thought it would heal on its own (which they sometimes do), but that they put a deadline on that process. Such as if it's not better by the beginning of June, we'll go ahead and do surgery so you can be recovered by the beginning of the season.
