Hoke is simply more comfortable with personal one-on-one than in on camera or radio interviews. That doesn't make him stupid. In fact, it's what makes him so effective on the recruiting trail. Time and again recruits comment how authentic Hoke comes across.
I'd rather be known for being personally authentic than to be known for being a polished interviewee.
He doesn't seem as stupid as people thinks he is drawing conclusions from his interviews.
