First, thanks again for compiling this ... this is a really enjoyable feature to scan through, even with some of the text not changing week to week.
ReplyDeleteSecond ... "Doman punted 7 times for 332 yards (47.4 yards/punt) and is averaging 46.06 yards/punt this year. Unfortunately, Florida lost 26-7 to Miami." The best punting statistic is 0 times in the game, which means the offense was successful in moving the chains and scoring points. Looking at the box score, and sure enough ... Florida's 3rd conversion rate was 0-for-13, and they got 141 yards in total. They're a bad team. Bad teams send their punter out a lot.
Third ... Tyrone Wheatley hangs on, despite 3-8 in 2023, 2-9 in 2024, and now 0-3 in 2025. I mean, yeah, it's Wayne State, but he's not playing the D1 big dogs either. So what's going on?
Finally ... Rodriguez's WVU gets hammered by Kansas. Kansas is pretty good, but I suspect WVU is not all that good, particularly on defense. This is going to be a rough year for the Mountaineer faithful.
Yeah...I just copy and paste the text from last week's post and then change the ones that need changing. That way someone can check in any given week and see where some of the guys are that don't need updating on a weekly basis.
DeleteI haven't paid a ton of attention to WVU this year, but I think Kansas is pretty good. WVU held Pitt's scoring down, so I think it's been a little good, a little bad. If I were a team searching for a new coach, I would definitely be looking at Lance Leipold from Kansas.
Haha Cole Cabana! Maybe he & Ben Hall just need m0aR cArRiEs ... pRoBaBlY ... s0mEtImEs

"Milton completed 19-of-28 passes for 251 yards and three touchdowns en route to the 31-14 victory in Miami. The most important play of the game was a 46-yard touchdown that put Tennessee up 28-14 in the fourth quarter. Hahahahaha, Milton got benched in Week TWO at halftime against Pitt. Not unlike week 1 v Ball State, the Vols "air raid" wasn't moving
DeleteBut there's more! Milton came out and warmed up with the team after the half. Did he have an ankle boo boo? Probably, but THAT'S THE GAME lAnKt0bY
He also dressed out & warned up for EVERY game of the two seasons. Boo boo, but available. Available, but not good enough. He's Nolan Ulizio: okay and tempting in practice, but inconsistent and scared when the lights go on

Really enjoy this series so thank you! Seeing Denegal have some success as a passer I always wonder what the he'll were the coaches looking at last year? To me Denegal is a better passer than what we had last year for sure.
ReplyDeleteHaving watched a little bit of Denegal this year, I have not been very impressed. He doesn't have good pocket presence and he seems to process things pretty slowly. In other words, I think he has a decently strong arm and is a decent straight line runner, but I think a muddy pocket would totally ruin him and lead to a ton of turnovers.
DeleteDavis Warren (and Alex Orji) had their own weaknesses, but I can see why they picked Warren over Denegal at the very least.
Orji is someone who I have basically suggested all along that he switch positions. Every minute he delays is one minute less that he's training to be a linebacker or H-back.
Agree! I watched SDSU during weeks 1 & 2, and Denegal had some decent moments; perhaps he can manage a P4 game or two, but not a season ... too inconsistent, not the greatest decisions, and slow to get the ball out
DeleteWarren > Denegal
I'd also rather see the gimmick run the ball a couple times a game than have Denegal start. But given the option of who leads the team for a season? For that je93 thought, go to last spring's position previews
