There isn't a running back in the country who is more dangerous from his team's 25-yard line than Justice Haynes.pic.twitter.com/lJ35S2kX9a

Justice Haynes, what a pickup! Much better than either Billy Edwards or Miller Moss would have been. OMVP through the first third of the season
ReplyDeleteI just finished reading mgoblog’s UFR from the Nebraska game. I quote “A lot of the monster days was running more or less straight after the seas parted.” Maybe our OL is not as bad as we feared at the beginning of the season. Or rather the coaches have done a good job changing the scheme to adjust to the strength of our OL (which is not Smashmouth Football). Nick Baumgartner also just ranked our OL as the 14th best in the nation based on the fact that we created those holes for Haynes and Marshall to run. Haynes has been great, that is for sure. But maybe we should give the coaches and OL some credit. In this forum, we keep talking about our OL being pushed around.
DeleteIndividually, Norton, Crippen & ElHadi have been pushed back or absolutely stonewalled (especially Norton & Crippen). First New Mexico and then OU. They were definitely not SMASH.
DeleteBoth tackles and Efobi have had rookie mistakes, especially Efobi in games 1-3 and Link off & on ea game. Efobi is actually hard to watch when pulling: off balance, lunging & uncertain. The OL has been inconsistent, even if improved
But they have had plenty of moments. Maybe it's fool's gold, but maybe the coaches are making the most of a non-Harball OL
I think the remainder of the schedule allows for them to figure things out: SC is just offense (but dangerous), and Washington's playmakers are going to stress our D in the same way. Sparty is a rivalry game and could be a rock fight. Then there's The Game
Catch the dang ball and we may be contenders
Finally got around to the UFR.
DeleteHero: McCulley. Also "the WR depth chart is wide open behind McCulley … and there's no one to step in. Marsh is making a ton of mistakes, Moore and Bell can't get snaps even when the WRs are dropping way too many balls"
#pLaYmAkERs
Also, yesterday was some good football! It's hard to believe, but Bryce, CJ Carr & Dante Moore all grew up in the same area, three school years apart. Next year, they may be Heisman finalists

DeleteDUDE USED TO SAY THIS BUT OF COURSE EVERY ACCUSATION IS A CONFESSION. CANT GO A POST WITHOUT SOME ATTEMPT AT CLAIMING A #JEDUB.
MEANWHILE. WHO CLAIMED MOORE OR BELL WERE PLAYMAKERS? THAT'D BE A ................ JE FAAAAAAAANTASY.
#EVERYTIME
YOU claimed we had playmakers ... we did NOT
Delete#jewasright

#jeDub
NOT CLAIMED AMIGO I STILL CLAIM.
DeleteLOVELAND, EDWARDS, MULLINGS, ORJI, MORGAN, MORRIS ALL SHOWED THEY COULD MAKE PLAYS IN 23 (DIFFERENT FROM BEING CONSISTENT HIGH END RELIABLE PLAYERS....SEE "BOOM/BUST" IF YOU KNEW WHAT THAT ACTUALLY MEANT).
ONLY YOU BELIEVE MULLINGS WAS THE ONLY PLAYMAKER.
[BUT #WEKNOW, NOT REALLY, #NEYBY]
YOU DON'T GO FROM PLAYMAKER ON A NATIONAL CHAMPION TO NOT A PLAYMAKER. BUT PRODUCTION AND PLAYS CAN DISAPPEAR IF YOU DON'T GET THE SAME OPPORTUNITIES.
THOSE GUYS SHOWED IT IN 23 AND IN THE RUN GAME THEY ALL DID IT AGAIN IN 24. BUT THE PASS GAME WAS A NO SHOW. ERROR, NOT FOUND. SO THE RECEIVERS DID JACK, INCLUDING LOVELAND. LOVELAND DIDNT GET WORSE, HE WAS STILL A PLAYMAKER, HE JUST COULDN'T MAKE THE SAME PLAYS WITHOUT THE PASS GAME FUNCTIONING WITH A PRETEND QB.
SOME OF US REALIZED THAT AND SOME OF US DUCK DODGE AND DEFLECT. #4EVER
Lmao, "DIFFERENT FROM BEING CONSISTENT HIGH END RELIABLE PLAYERS"
DeleteGo back to that spring WR preview lAnKt0bY ... you've adopted one of my points LOL!
Truly not smart enough!!!

Pretty good analysis here.

Yep, love these tape breakdowns. Seth is good, but there are a bunch ea week from other schools and guys who cover different sides of the ball
DeleteDevin & Jake Butt did some breakdown on the Nebraska game. Very high on Haynes (because, of course), and had some great takes on McCulley. But they were brutally critical of the other pLaYmAkeRs at WR, who couldn't even get open on Man beater routes
