MLive: Richard Ash will play for Western Michigan

Western Michigan's football program has absorbed another Michigan grad year transfer in the form of defensive tackle Richard Ash. Last year they got linebacker Mike Jones. Several years ago they received undergrad transfer Dann O'Neill, an offensive tackle. Michigan has been good to the Broncos.

Hit the jump for Kelly Karloff and her cleavage.

Wolverine Nation: Seniors spill the goods

Kelly Karloff

This article is behind a paywall, so it's not accessible for some of you.  But Mike Rothstein asked a few questions to outgoing seniors and got some anonymous answers to some polls.  Perhaps the most interesting part (that we couldn't have guessed) is the number of guys who said they liked or disliked Rich Rodriguez.  I have some guesses for who disliked him, although there weren't many of them.

Big Ten Blog: Mattison puts Michigan defenders on alert

Kelly Karloff
With so much uncertainty on the defensive line in 2012, defensive coordinator Greg Mattison seems to be letting his players know that if they don't produce, they will be replaced by someone who can.  I'm guessing this is a shot across the bow aimed at some veteran defensive tackles who have yet to step up their games.

AnnArbor.com: Spring preview - offensive line

Kelly Karloff
Kyle Meinke continues his spring football preview, this time with the offensive line.  The offensive line permutations have been discussed ad nauseam due to the shortage of experienced linemen and the loss of Rimington Award winner David Molk . . . but here's more of a discussion if you're still yearning.

Wolverine Nation: Exit Interview with Ryan Van Bergen

Kelly Karloff
Once again it's behind a paywall, but these Wolverine Nation  exit interviews are pretty excellent.  This one is from Ryan Van Bergen, whose stellar play in the second half of the season I'll miss greatly.  Hopefully Craig Roh can adequately fill his shoes.

Rivals: OSU and Michigan bring in top Big Ten units

Kelly Karloff
Rivals released their position rankings for the class of 2012, and the news is - unsurprisingly - good.  The Wolverines ranked #1 at running back, #5 at wide receiver, tied for #1 at tight end, #1 at offensive line, #1 at defensive tackle, #2 at defensive end, #1 at linebacker, and #2 at defensive back.  Michigan didn't take a quarterback or an athlete, so they were unranked at each of those positions.  Michigan's average ranking in those eight categories (not counting the two in which they were unranked) is 1.75.  Ohio State's average ranking in all ten categories (since they took a quarterback and a couple athletes) is 2.4.

Smart Football: The Rocket Toss Sweep

Kelly Karloff is somewhat good looking.

Being a high school coach, I found this post from Smart Football  to be particularly interesting.  It talks about the Rocket Sweep (in which a wingback or tailback sprints laterally prior to the snap in an effort to threaten the edge) and counter plays off the Rocket Sweep package.
