Rich Rodriguez (Offensive Coordinator, Louisiana-Monroe): ULM suffered a 59-6 loss to Coastal Carolina. They are #129 out of 130 in scoring offense at just 14.3 points per game.

ReplyDeleteThe real surprise is what has happened with Aubrey Solomon. Many including me lamented his transfer as a big blow but he does not seem to be playing up to his talent. Or much at all for that matter - he's buried deep on the new staff's depth chart.
“Aubrey has hung in there, and he’s making strides. I’m proud of him for at least staying the course,” Garner said. “He had a long way to go when we got here, a lot of things to work on. But he persevered. We put him on the scout team. And he worked his way through it, kept a good attitude.”
Another ex-Wolverine that may not be as good as thought - Zach Carpenter is a backup at Indiana.

ReplyDeleteWhat I've never seen from Jackson is the ability to run routes. He's just a fast/quick guy running around. Everything is rounded off, and he doesn't set anything up.
DeleteYeah, WR is a skill position. Jackson spent a lot of time in HS and at Michigan playing RB so he may have not developed the positional skills needed to thrive there.

I wonder if Michigan's "former players" write-ups look similar to Michigan's. In other words, do Michigan's former players do less-well compared to the average, about average, or perform better than average?
ReplyDeleteIf Michigan former players under-perform relative to the average, what does that say about Michigan? Poor player evaluation during recruitment?
I would imagine they're very similar or worse. If you think of Michigan's recruiting classes, probably 50% of them transfer by the end of their careers. Usually they transfer down a notch (to the MAC, the Sun Belt, FCS, etc.), and it's very rare that they end up at a similar level of school (VanSumeren to MSU, Solomon to Tennessee, etc. are the exceptions). And Michigan is recruiting top-10 level recruiting classes.
