  1. Does minter not have a position group?

What are your thoughts on splitting OL responsibilities, so that Moore can spend more time on OC duties? Or perhaps appoint a PGC (with Hart as RGC)?

    1. I believe Minter coaches the nickel guys.

In general, I don't like splitting the offensive line responsibilities. Typically, that would happen with interior guys and then tackles, but I just think one guy should be coaching them all. The communication, the teaching terminology, etc. all should be consistent.

I think it would be best if you have a good GA or two to work with the offensive line, preferably who played for the OL coach or who are 100% bought into teaching things the same way as the OL coach. That would help ensure that things are being taught the same way. Hopefully it's a quality GA.

  2. D staff is loaded! Moore is a stud but I have a similar concern about OC/OL being a big job for 1. Hopefully the less proven coaches in O can elevate. Maybe newsome can grow into ol/TE..

    1. That was my thought under splitting OL responsibilities (Newsome), but he might be too junior in experience to add Tackles to his workload

Maybe with Campbell's OC background, he can support on the passing side, even if not labeled with a role

    2. Campbell said that he was partially responsible for working through the 3rd and 4th down passing concepts during the 2022 season (when he was an analyst), so I don't see any reason why he wouldn't be heavily involved in the passing game. At the very least, I would expect his input to be included and respected on the call sheet for Moore, even if it's not Campbell himself who's calling the pass plays.

    3. Seems like limiting Moores duties would be key. So he can focus more on OC stuff. I guess having a veteran OL limits the risk. If harbaugh and Campbell are doing a chunk of OC duties, and analysts support is there, it maybe isn't all the different for Moore?

  3. Man I'm just stuck on this defensive staff. Sounds like we might lose Jesse Minter, maybe, but if we can hold onto him it's something else.

Jesse Minter (current DC interviewed by NFL)
    Clinksdale (current co-DC)
Partridge (former DC at Ol Miss)
Elston (former associate head coach at Notre Dame and co-DC at CMU)
Jay Harbaugh (successful at every spot he's been and probably headed for an OC/DC gig at some point soon)
Rick Minter (former DC at Notre Dame and NFL assistant) as an analyst
Doug Mallory (former co-DC at LSU and NFL assistant) as an analyst

    That's one helluva staff!
