2023 TRANSFER PORTAL

Josh Wallace - CB - UMass: Wallace is a 6'1", 190-pounder who has started 34 games over the past few seasons at UMass and was a two-time team captain. He has one year of eligibility remaining and was coached at UMass by former Michigan defensive coordinator Don Brown.

2024

Marquis Gallegos - S - West Hills (CA) Chaminade: Gallegos is a 6'1", 175 lb. prospect with offers from Cal, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, UCLA, and USC, among others. He's a 4-star, the #23 safety, and #252 overall. This is his official visit.

Brian Robinson, Jr. - DE - Austintown (OH) Fitch: Robinson is a 6'5", 255-pounder with offers from Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Penn State, among others. He's a 4-star, the #10 edge, and #132 overall. All four crystal ball picks have come in for Michigan, but he also has official visits set up for Kentucky and Penn State after he visits Ann Arbor.

Jacob Smith - DE - Cheshire (CT) Cheshire Academy: Smith is a 6'4", 235 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Kentucky, Nebraska, Notre Dame, and Penn State, among others. He's a 4-star, the #18 edge, and #210 overall. He's the twin brother of Jerod Smith (see below), who is committed to Michigan. This is his official visit.

2025

Jake Flores - OT - San Juan Capistrano (CA) J Serra Catholic: Flores is a 6'6", 275-pounder with offers from Arizona, Michigan, Ole Miss, Oregon, Tennessee, and more. He's a 3-star, the #16 interior offensive lineman, and #360 overall.

2026

Zech Fort - CB - Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy: Fort is a 5'10", 175 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Florida State, LSU, Michigan, Ohio State, USC, and many others. He transferred to IMG from the state of California, so he's not a Florida native. His unofficial is taking place on May 30.

  1. One thing notable about Wallace's recruitment. He's in demand.

    "currently on a visit to Oklahoma and Michigan would be the second team this week to host the sought-after transfer. He also has offers from Penn State, Michigan State, Iowa, Indiana, Virginia Tech, and Oregon State."

    I wonder if he followed a more traditional timeline (portal entry around December/January) if interest would be this high. I am noticing in basketball that some pretty marginal players are creating a some big battles on the recruiting trail. This might be a strategy some guys take in the future to create a larger second/spring wave of portal transfers focused on teams with outstanding needs.
