Tate Forcier is apparently transferring

This is according to Ann Arbor.com based on a quick comment Forcier made after the game.

Update: Other sources are refuting Mike Rothstein's assertion.

I read the Diary section at MGoBlog. I'm just not going to allow rude and vulgar posts on my site. If you keep things football-related, your posts will remain.

  3. Good for him. What's the point of sticking around? He has enough talent to start somewhere. I mean there wasn't much to be happy about last year, except for Tate's first few games. Robinson is the man of the hour and he will be starting until Gardner takes the spot from him. And then Robinson will have to leave, but this is what happens when do a good job of recruiting each year. I just don't see why everyone is taking shouts at Tate. He just lost one of the most amazing jobs in college sports. Hell, I got mad when I got switch to assistant counsel on my third big case (after I had one two big cases) when I was 24. Tate's only 19. Hell, give him a break.

  4. Did you read the interview with Tate's dad? He's not transferring yet you keep this post up. If your going to ask something be taken down over then pretty much do the exact same thing on your blog is blatant hypocrisy. Your just spreading rumors.

Yes, I read it. The post has been updated accordingly with the appropriate information.

Meanwhile, the random post on MGoBlog was just that - a random post based on a wild-ass guess, not a direct quote from a reporter. If you can't see the difference, I don't know what to tell you.

  6. Tate's father has been quoted saying that it's "150% fact" that Tate's staying. I'm willing to bet money that the "I'm out" thing was taken out of context and the reporter didn't really have all of the information. There's a lot more going on here than what we see, people need to respect that.

  7. Maybe the title should be, "Tate Forcier apparently wanted to transfer after the UConn game". That at least seemed apparent.

Whether Tate does or not surely depends on his family, his interaction with the coaches and team, over the week(s) ahead, and ultimately whether he feels it's in his best interest to remain at Michigan.

From what we know now, and what we knew Saturday evening, it seems way to early to state that he's apparently transferring.

I understand where you're coming from, but the word "apparent" can be confusing for some. It has a few definitions, one of which is "obvious" (your interpretation) and one of which is "appearing as such but not necessarily so" (mine).

In this specific case, I'm saying "It appears that Tate will transfer, although the truth remains to be seen."

Thanks for the comment. I think conversations about grammar and such are valuable, especially in a medium where written communication is all that's available.
