I don't know if Scout is right, at their #7 ranking, but he's definitely better than rivals #33. Biggest problem with Smith is his speed, he doesn't have much. Athletes can get faster, but you can't teach speed.
On the positives, he has great vision, and this dude can probably leg press 900 lbs. His legs never stop churning, breaking tackles like it's why he was put on this earth. I don't care if he's playing lesser talent because he'll break through two tackles at once, leaving no doubt in my mind he will be able to continue this trend in college.
TTB rankings take NFL potential into account, and with Smith's lack of speed, it doesn't appear he has much RIGHT NOW. We'll see in 4 years, but right now it's not looking like he could be an NFL back.
I'm sure you'll have a ton of questions like this, but does this updated film change your opinion or rating of Smith?
ReplyDeleteHD please ?
ReplyDeleteI like smith i hate to compare high school kids to former players but when he runs A train pops up in my head.
ReplyDeleteThat stiff arm at 51 seconds made my jaw ache.
ReplyDeleteThat stiff arm at 51 seconds was just brutal
ReplyDeleteHe does hold the ball a little low, which could lead to fumbles. Other than that can't wait to see him in backfield with Shane Morris under center.
ReplyDeleteDeveon Smith
