Tom VanHaaren, Chantel Jennings, and Michael Rothstein discuss a few things going on with Michigan football recently. I agree with TomVH on all three questions posed, which is a general trend. He seems to have his finger on the pulse of what the program is doing and what the fans want.
In my mind, ESPN has no credibility when it comes to ranking football prospects (basketball, however, they're excellent). I've read they do their evaluations based on film only, and their representatives are rarely seen at any of the camps the Rivals and Scout guys are at or at any of the high school games of the players they're ranking.
I have a great deal of respect for TomVH, and it's clear that he's a shining star at a "recruiting service" that frankly isn't very reliable. Cool interest stories though...
There were recently some posted videos by ESPN talking about how they make their evaluations. And while it does sound like many of their evaluations are based off of film, that's not entirely the case. And I also think that camps are somewhat overrated, just like the NFL Combine is less important than game film for NFL prospects.

DeleteWhen Melanie Iglesias is on the page, I hardly notice that there are words on the page as well.
