  1. What's your gut tell you regarding the relative strengths and weaknesses of this projected 2026 team? Any glaring holes?

    1. My gut tells me it's going to be a pretty darn good squad, provided there are no surprising departures from players that I expect to be heavy contributors. The most glaring weakness I see is at defensive tackle, where they lose a lot of depth because Benny, Williams, Iwunnah, and Payne will all be gone. But they've shown that they can go out and find pieces in the transfer portal, and if that's the one position group they really have to shore up, they can probably marshall the finances to go get a quality defensive tackle or two for a championship run (Big Ten or bigger). Trey Pierce should be good by then and maybe one or two other guys.

  2. Oof, still a QB depth problem. Portal will be an even bigger challenge with two sophomores and a freshman

    1. Are you referring to the drop-off from Underwood to Davis, or from Davis to what's below him? I'm asking because I'm trying to think of another school where QB depth *isn't* a problem. In this day and age, any starter-quality QB that's on the bench will be looking for a new home. It used to be the case where a stable could be kept, but I don't think anyone has that any more. Is there a school where three serviceable starting QBs are on the roster?
