  • Linebacker Brandin Hawthorne signed as an undrafted free agent with the St. Louis rams
  • Safety Jordan Kovacs signed as an undrafted free agent with the Miami Dolphins
  • Offensive center/guard Elliott Mealer signed as an undrafted free agent with the New Orleans Saints
  • Offensive guard Patrick Omameh signed as an undrafted free agent with the San Francisco 49ers

  1. Pretty sure Hawthorne signed with the Rams

Also, what do you think of BWC at guard? Could you see him being moved back to DT by another team?

    1. Yeah, Hawthorne signed with the Rams. Thanks.

I don't think Campbell fits as an offensive lineman in a zone blocking scheme. If the Jets are going to run zone, I think he'll struggle. And yes, I could imagine another team moving him to defensive tackle. I believe I read that he had teams talking to him about both offense and defense.

  2. You know you want to say something about Floyd. Go ahead. Do it.

    1. Eh, anyone who reads this blog consistently knows what I think about his skills. For lack of a better term, my two biggest "whipping boys" over the last couple seasons are two of the three guys - along with Brandon Moore - who are as yet unsigned.

  3. When they sign as an undrafted free agent, do the earn any money with that designation? Is it basically a try out to earn a roster spot to then earn money?

    1. Teams get about $75,000 to spread out among undrafted free agents. So they could sign 25 UFA at $3,000 apiece. So yeah, each of these guys will at least get a small stipend of a few thousand dollars, and they'll get paid to attend the rookie mini-camps and such.

    2. That makes sense...the team would atleast pay for housing, possibly transportation and some type of food allowance while the free agents are camping.
