Ex-Wolverine Updates: Week 13

FORMER PLAYERS

P George Caratan (UConn): UConn (6-6) had a bye to end the regular season and is bowl eligible. Caratan has punted 62 times for 2,503 yards (40.4 yards/punt).

C Zach Carpenter (Indiana): Carpenter started eight games, mostly at left guard due to a hand injury. Indiana (4-8) is not bowl eligible.

RB Zach Charbonnet (UCLA): Charbonnet ran 24 times for 119 yards and 1 touchdown in a 35-28 win over Cal. He also caught 4 passes for 22 yards.

S Sammy Faustin (UMass): Faustin did not record any stats in a 44-7 loss to Army. Faustin made 3 tackles while playing in eleven games this season. UMass (1-11) is not bowl eligible.

OG Chuck Filiaga (Minnesota): Filiaga is a sixth year senior who starts at right guard for the Gophers.

CB Darion Green-Warren (Nevada): Green-Warren did not record any stats in a 27-22 loss to UNLV. He made 5 tackles and 1 pass breakup this season. Nevada (2-10) is not bowl eligible.

QB Ren Hefley (Northwest Mississippi Community College): Hefley led his team to a 10-1 record as the starting quarterback. He finished the season with 189/308 passes completed, 2,240 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions; and 34 carries for 86 yards and 5 touchdowns.

K Cole Hussung (Louisville): The former walk-on kicker transferred to Louisville but has yet to play this season.

WR Giles Jackson (Washington): Jackson had 2 catches for 37 yards and 2 kickoff returns for 28 yards in a 51-33 win over Washington State.

CB George Johnson III (UMass): Johnson made 2 catches for 38 yards in a 44-7 loss to Army. Johnson led UMass in receptions (28) and yards (402) while making 1 touchdown catch. Amazingly, UMass only scored 4 touchdowns through the air for the entire season.

S Jaylen Kelly-Powell (Akron): Kelly-Powell did not play in a 44-12 win over Northern Illinois.

DE Aaron Lewis (Rutgers): Lewis did not play in a 37-0 loss to Maryland.

WR Oliver Martin (Nebraska): Martin made 1 catch for 7 yards in a 24-17 win over Iowa. He made 11 catches for 195 yards and 1 touchdown this season. Nebraska (4-8) is not bowl eligible.

QB Dylan McCaffrey (Northern Colorado): Northern Colorado went 3-8 this season, after which head coach Ed McCaffrey was fired. Dylan McCaffrey ran 66 times for 120 yards. He completed 189/317 passes (59.2%) for 1,905 yards, 12 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions.

QB Joe Milton (Tennessee): Milton was 11/21 for 147 yards and 1 touchdown in a 56-0 win over Vanderbilt after starting quarterback Hendon Hooker tore his ACL the previous week.

LB William Mohan (Tennessee): Mohan was dismissed from Tennessee's program for an off-the-field incident.

S Jordan Morant (Mississippi State): Morant did not record any stats in a 24-22 win over Ole Miss.

DT Phillip Paea (Utah State): Paea did not play in a 42-23 loss to Boise State.

S Hunter Reynolds (Utah State): Reynolds made 10 tackles in a 42-23 loss to Boise State.

C/OG Nolan Rumler (Kent State): Rumler is a backup center and offensive guard for the Golden Flashes.

RB O'Maury Samuels (New Mexico State): Samuels did not play in a 49-14 win over Liberty.

CB Andre Seldon (New Mexico State): Seldon made 8 tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss, and 1 pass breakup in a 49-14 win over Liberty.

CB Myles Sims (Georgia Tech): Sims made 3 tackles and 1 pass breakup in a 37-13 loss to Georgia. Sims made 43 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 1 interception, and 3 pass breakups for the Yellowjackets, who went 5-7 and did not qualify for a bowl game.

LB Anthony Solomon (Arizona): Solomon did not play in a 38-35 win over Arizona State. He made 1 tackle while playing in six games this season. Arizona (5-7) is not bowl eligible.

OT Jack Stewart (UConn): Stewart played in eight games as a backup lineman for UConn this season.

RB Christian Turner (Wake Forest): Turner had 7 carries for 24 yards in a 34-31 loss to Duke.

LB Ben VanSumeren (Michigan State): VanSumeren made 4 tackles and 2 quarterback hurries in a 35-16 loss to Penn State.

QB Dan Villari (Syracuse): Villari did not record any stats in a 32-23 win over Boston College.

LB Cornell Wheeler (Kansas): Wheeler did not play in a 47-27 loss to Kansas State.

FORMER COMMITS

WR Markus Allen (Wisconsin): Allen has announced his entrance into the transfer portal.

RB Tim Baldwin, Jr. (UMass): Baldwin did not play in a 44-7 loss to Army. He played in four games, rushing 33 times for 165 yards (5.0 yards/carry). UMass (1-11) is not bowl eligible.

DE Ethan Burke (Texas): Burke did not record any stats in a 38-27 win over Baylor.

CB Te'Cory Couch (Miami): Couch made 4 tackles in a 42-16 loss to Pitt. Miami (5-7) is not bowl eligible. Coach made 37 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, and 6 pass breakups this season.

QB Kevin Doyle (Dusseldorf Panthers): Doyle transferred from Arizona after three seasons and is currently on the roster of the Dusseldorf Panthers, an American football team in Germany.

C Emil Ekiyor, Jr. (Alabama): Ekiyor is the starting right guard for Alabama.

RB Eric Gray (Oklahoma): Gray had 28 carries for 161 yards and 2 catches for 10 yards in a 51-48 loss to Texas Tech.

S Taylor Grove (Ole Miss): Grove did not play in a 24-22 loss to Mississippi State.

OLB Stephen Herron, Jr. (Stanford): Herron made 2 tackles in a 35-26 loss to BYU. After the game he entered the transfer portal. Stanford (3-9) is not bowl eligible. Herron made 37 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, 4 quarterback hurries, and 2 forced fumbles this season.

C Jalil Irvin (Auburn): Irvin played in ten games this season. Auburn (5-7) is not bowl eligible.

LB Branden Jennings (UCF): Jennings did not play in a 46-39 win over USF.

LB Chase Lasater (Eastern Kentucky): Lasater made 7 tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss in a 52-41 loss to Gardner-Webb. This season he made 64 tackles and 4.5 tackles for loss.

LB Tyler Martin (Arizona): Martin did not play in a 38-35 win over Arizona State.

OG Micah Mazzccua (Baylor): Mazzccua has played in eleven games for Baylor this season and starts at left guard.

DT Davonte Miles (Bowling Green): Miles did not play in a 38-14 loss to Ohio.

RB Amauri Pesek-Hickson (Northern Iowa): Northern Iowa went 6-5 in 2022. Pesek-Hickson had 4 carries for 34 yards on the year.

LB Casey Phinney (Boston College): Phinney did not see playing time this season at Boston College.

S Otis Reese (Ole Miss): Reese made 11 tackles and 1 interception in a 24-22 loss to Mississippi State.

S Antwaine Richardson (Kent State): Richardson did not play in a 30-27 win over Buffalo.

S Myles Rowser (Campbell): Rowser made 44 tackles, 1 interception, and 3 pass breakups this season for the Campbell Camels.

DE Quintin Somerville (UCLA): Somerville did not see playing time this season for UCLA.

TE Leonard Taylor (Cincinnati): Taylor made 1 catch for 10 yards in a 27-24 loss to Tulane.

DT Alex VanSumeren (Michigan State): VanSumeren did not play in MSU's 35-16 loss to Penn State.

DT Denver Warren (Bowling Green): Warren did not see playing time this season for Bowling Green.

WR Xavier Worthy (Texas): Worthy made 7 catches for 62 yards in a 38-27 win over Baylor.

FORMER COACHES

Don Brown (Head Coach, UMass): UMass fell to 1-11 with a 44-7 loss to Army. Their season is complete.

Jedd Fisch (Head Coach, Arizona): Arizona improved to 5-7 with a 38-35 win over Arizona State. The Wildcats are not bowl eligible.

Brady Hoke (Head Coach, San Diego State): SDSU suffered a 13-3 loss to Air Force to drop to 7-5 on the year. They will play Middle Tennessee State in the Hawaii Bowl.

Mo Linguist (Head Coach, Buffalo): Buffalo suffered a 30-27 loss to Kent State to drop to 5-6 but will have a chance to earn bowl eligibility with a game on Friday night against Akron. Buffalo/Akron got a special waiver to play this week due to the snowstorm in New York two weeks ago.

Scot Loeffler (Head Coach, Bowling Green State): BGSU fell to 6-6 after a 38-14 loss to Ohio.

Jim McElwain (Head Coach, Central Michigan): Central Michigan dropped to 4-8 after a 38-19 loss to Eastern Michigan.

Rich Rodriguez (Head Coach, Jacksonville State): JSU went 9-2 this season.
