I previously posted the all-time career yardage leaders (LINK). Now it's time to reminisce about the best rushing seasons ever in a Michigan uniform. I set out to post the top 25, but going to 35 allowed me to include all 1,000-yard gainers, so I extended the list a bit.

  1. 1,818 - Tim Biakabutuka (1995)
  2. 1,733 - Anthony Thomas (2000)

  35. 1,002 - Rick Rogers (1983)

Blake Corum has 1,187 rushing yards through nine games, putting him on pace for 1,582 yards in the regular season.

Michigan has only had two 1,000+ yard rushers three times in school history:

  • 2011: Denard Robinson, Fitzgerald Toussaint
  • 1981: Billy Taylor, Butch Woolfolk
  • 1975: Gordon Bell, Rob Lytle

  1. I hate to nit-pick, but I think there's a typo ... Billy Taylor was 1971.
