Hansen - who is no relation to the recently departed Louis Hansen - was offered by Michigan in April 2022 and visited Ann Arbor over the summer.

Hansen is a tall, lanky athlete at this point who has a lot of room to fill out in the coming years. He has good speed and runs with a nice body lean. Bellevue uses him as a tight end in their Wing-T offense, and they split him out or use him as an H-back in their spread looks. His speed is enough to stretch the field vertically against high school teams, and he does a nice job of adjusting to balls thrown over his shoulder and using his hands to snag the football.

There may need to be more of an emphasis on putting his hand in the dirt and learning to block; as of right now, he looks a little bit uncomfortable coming out of a three-point stance to do anything other than release vertically on pass routes. His blocking will need to improve, and he will have to widen his base.

Overall, I see no reason to expect that Hansen would not be able to develop in Michigan's offense other than a lack of bulk/strength. His athleticism and length should be an asset. The first Michigan player that popped into mind was Tyler Ecker, who played at Michigan from 2003-2006 and made 57 catches for 695 yards and 6 touchdowns with quarterbacks John Navarre and Chad Henne. Ecker was drafted by the (then) Washington Redskins in the 7th round.

Hansen is the fourth player to commit for the class of 2024, joining offensive guard Luke Hamilton, lineman Manuel Beigel, and linebacker Mason Curtis. He would be the first scholarship player to suit up for the Wolverines since Michigan signed offensive Stephen Schilling in 2006, and Schilling also attended Bellevue; a couple walk-ons from the Evergreen State have played for Michigan in the past decade, including linemen Ben Pliska and Griffin Korican.

A look at the possible depth chart for Michigan when Hansen arrives in 2024:

  1. Colston Loveland (Jr.)
  2. Matt Hibner (RS Sr.)
  3. Max Bredeson (RS Jr.)
  4. Marlin Klein (RS So.)
  5. Zack Marshall (So.)
  6. Deakon Tonielli (So.)
  7. Hogan Hansen (Fr.)

  3. some more news on the Cade McNamara surgery video:

Blake Corum had "no structural damage" but somehow he needed surgery to repair structural damage. Good job docs who did the assessment on Blake Corums knee!!! Didn't just screw up Cade McNamaras evaluation!

but now damage control has shifted to the medical staff at Michigan that can't even detect a tear in a patellar tendon---yeah, nothing to see here folks.... right? a prestigious medical staff at Michigan couldn't even see a tear in a patellar, that the doctor McNamara went to saw IMMEDIATELY! Yes, that's right, he saw it IMMEDIATELY!!!

I am ashamed of the medical staff at my team!!!! They bring reason for our rivals to imprecate MY TEAM !!!

    1. In this case, If you have nothing of value to add, it is better to stay away from this issue.
I'm seeing that FOIAs are going to be filed for medical records of Cade McNamara, Blake Corum, and possibly Benjamin St Juste.

    2. You seem to use three !!! quite a bit. You must be really excited!!!!!!!!! Also, I doubt you have seen both sides of the story. But feel free to jump to conclusions. No one is perfect but I find it unlikely that Michigan, with a very impressive hospital and medical professionals, has bumbling idiots as team doctors. Seems more likely that not everything you are pushing is 100% accurate. Just a hunch.

    3. Cade appears to me to making a lot of excuses oh why he got beat out. Because one west coast chump change, strip mall doc in LA said he say a clear tear doesn't make it correct. Cade is going to have to carry a bad offense, with bad players, and even worse coaches at Iowa. He is in for a long year, it probably end in failure with Cade having no shot at the NFL. Cade should have played the long game, been a little more grateful, and angled his UM career for a coaching assistant spot. In one year he will be just another guy with crummy liberals degree. By setting fire to his network at Michigan, he just made his post playing career that much more difficult.

    4. Hot take copied from the other thread just for mcnaANON

Hot take - if the staff had diagnosed his knee injury against MSU he would have just expedited the inevitable. JJ would have started the next week and Cade would have never beaten OSU, never won a big ten championship and never been made captain. He would have left last offseason.

    5. Yeah I found that weird. Diagnosing earlier just means Cade leaves without the glory

    6. You can't FOIA medical records. HIPAA supercedes FOIA.

    7. I looked that up. Apparently you can FOIa them. But HIPAA makes it very hard.

cade's interview. My biggest take away is how poor of a communicator Cade is. He talks like a typical 17 yo from produnk. That, and his make believe world of realty.

    1. The main thing I took away from that video is that Cade is still extremely upset that Harbaugh gave JJ the *chance* to *compete* with him to be the starter. Let me say that again - he was upset that Jim Harbaugh, Mr. Meritocracy himself, allowed a QB competition to take place. That speaks volumes to me about Cade as a leader and as a competitor. The video is extremely disappointing to watch. I'll always be grateful that Cade helped turn the program around, but man am I beyond happy with JJ at the helm.

    2. there is nothing in the video that he is extremely upset
I have no idea how you even concluded that

The way some of you have turned on Cade McNamara is a study in psychology. It is mob mentality, mindless mob rule
