Recruiting Update: January 13, 2015

Montezuma (GA) Macon linebacker Roquan Smith
ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2015
Fort Lauderdale (FL) St. Thomas Aquinas cornerback Damon Arnette, a South Carolina commit, was offered by Michigan and plans an official visit to Ann Arbor for this upcoming weekend. He's a 6'2", 185 lb. prospect who's a 247 Composite 3-star, the #60 cornerback, and #649 overall. He was being recruited by defensive coordinator D.J. Durkin at Florida. Other schools to offer include Florida State, Louisville, Ohio State, Ole Miss, and Wisconsin, among others. Michigan has attempted to dip into St. Thomas Aquinas several times in recent years, but players like Lamarcus Joyner (Florida State), Joey Bosa (Ohio State), and Corey Holmes (Notre Dame) have spurned the Wolverines' efforts. Arnette is a big, physical corner.

Lithonia (GA) Hapeville Academy defensive end Arden Key decommitted from South Carolina. Key is a 6'5", 230 lb. prospect who's a 247 Composite 4-star, the #5 weakside end, and #103 overall. Most analysts believe Auburn will be the recipient of his commitment sometime in the next few weeks.

Rowlett (TX) Rowlett defensive end Charles Omenihu, a Texas commit, was offered by Michigan. Like Arnette, he had been pursued by Durkin at Florida. Omenihu is a 6'5", 232 lb. 3-star, #21 weakside end, and #469 player overall. Unfortunately, he has decided not to stir things up and stated that he would not take an official visit to Michigan despite some early excitement about the offer.

Montezuma (GA) Macon linebacker Roquan Smith was offered by Michigan. Smith is a 6'2", 205 lb. prospect and another Durkin connection. Smith is also a 247 Composite 4-star, the #5 outside linebacker, and #49 overall. He also has offers from Alabama and USC, but he's considered to be a Georgia lean with Ole Miss and UCLA visits scheduled for the final two weeks of January. He will be visiting Michigan this coming weekend, but the Wolverines are playing from behind. As a senior in 2014, he made 173 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and 2 interceptions, plus he scored 12 touchdowns. Smith could probably play running back for a lot of teams in college football, but he's a speedy guy who could play outside in a 3-4 or as a weakside guy in a 4-3. At this point he's the best prospect considering Michigan, in my opinion, so a celebration would be in order if the Wolverines were able to pull him away from Georgia and his other suitors.

Monrovia (CA) Monrovia cornerback Octavius Spencer, a UCLA commit, picked up an offer from Michigan. Spencer is a 6'2", 175 lb. prospect who's a 247 Composite 3-star, the #64 cornerback, and #684 overall. He could be poachable if UCLA head coach Jim Mora, Jr. takes an NFL job somewhere, but otherwise, he probably sticks with the Bruins.

Hit the jump for players who went off the board and some miscellaneous bits and pieces.

Visitors: February 21-23, 2014

Traverse City (MI) West offensive
lineman Thiyo Lukusa
Asmar Bilal - LB - Indianapolis (IN) Ben Davis: Bilal is a 6'3", 201 lb. prospect with offers from Cincinnati, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, and Northwestern, among others. As a junior in 2013, he had 106 tackles, 4.5 sacks, and 1 fumble recovery. He's a 247 Composite 4-star, the #7 inside linebacker, and the #208 player overall.

Brian Cole - WR - Saginaw (MI) Heritage: Cole is a 6'2", 190 lb. prospect with offers from Michigan, Michigan State, and Ohio State, along with several others. He's a 247 Composite 4-star, the #5 athlete, the #57 player overall, and the top in-state player for 2015.

Donnie Corley - WR - Wyandotte (MI) Roosevelt: Corley is a 6'2", 160 lb. prospect for 2016. He recently won a Best of the Midwest camp MVP and looks like a promising prospect going forward. He also visited Michigan last weekend.

Shaun Crawford - CB - Lakewood (OH) St. Edward: Crawford committed to Michigan in August 2013.

Andrew David - K - Massillon (OH) Washington: David committed to Michigan in June 2013.

Jack Dunaway - DE - Bloomfield Hills (MI) Brother Rice: Dunaway is a 6'3", 212 lb. prospect with no offers at this time. He's the son of former Michigan tight end Craig Dunaway. I profiled him in the In-State Preview of 2015 Recruiting.

David Edwards - QB/TE - Downers Grove (IL) North: Edwards is a 6'6", 225 lb. prospect with offers from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Vanderbilt, and Wisconsin, among others. He's a 247 Composite 4-star, the #34 athlete, and the #303 player overall. Despite being ranked in some circles as a quarterback, I think his best chance of earning a Michigan offer would be as a tight end.

Desmond Fitzpatrick - WR - Farmington (MI) Farmington: Fitzpatrick is a 6'1", 165 lb. prospect for 2016 with a lone offer from Indiana. He may visit this weekend, and that would be the second weekend in a row for him to be on campus.

Kevin Givens - LB - Altoona (PA) Altoona: Givens is a 6'3", 230 lb. prospect with offers from Pitt, Temple, UMass, and Western Michigan. He's a 247 Composite 3-star, the #30 weakside end, and #727 overall for the 2015 class. Givens looks like a 'tweener OLB/WDE. He also stopped by Ann Arbor in late January, so his interest in the Wolverines appears to be pretty legitimate. UPDATE: Givens committed to Pitt on Tuesday, so he is probably not planning to visit.

Damien Harris - RB - Berea (KY) Madison Southern: Harris, one of the top running backs in the 2015 class, decommitted from Michigan in January. A number of other schools have swooped in on him now that he's a "free agent" but Michigan and Ohio State still seem to be the leaders.

Daelin Hayes - LB - Orchard Lake (MI) St. Mary's: Hayes is a 6'2", 210 lb. prospect for 2016 with an offer from Michigan State. He also plays running back, but I think he lacks the suddenness to be a runner at the next level. He's the cousin of Michigan running back Justice Hayes.

Troy Henderson, Jr. - LB - Lakewood (OH) St. Edward: Henderson is a 6'1", 215 lb. prospect with offers from Cincinnati and Toledo. He claims a 4.6 forty, a 4.2 shuttle, a 33" vertical, a 330 lb. bench, and a 425 lb. squat. As a junior in 2013, he had over 100 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 8 sacks, and 3 forced fumbles. He's a teammate of Michigan cornerback commit Shaun Crawford.

Darrin Kirkland, Jr. - LB - Indianapolis (IN) Lawrence Central: Kirkland is a 6'2", 228 lb. prospect with offers from Illinois, Indiana, Louisville, Ole Miss, Penn State, Purdue, Tennessee, and Virginia Tech, among others. He's a 247 Composite 4-star, the #5 inside linebacker, and #199 overall. As a junior in 2013, he had 110 tackles and 8 sacks. He has visited Michigan multiple times, and while Michigan does not appear to be going hard after inside linebackers at the moment, Kirkland may be in line for an offer sooner or later.

Thiyo Lukusa - OG - Traverse City (MI) West: Lukusa is a 6'5", 300 lb. prospect for 2016 with offers from Akron, Michigan, Michigan State, and Wisconsin. Several insider types believe Lukusa is leaning toward Michigan.

Harrison Moon - OT - Signal Mountain (TN) Signal Mountain: Moon is a 6'5", 260 lb. prospect with offers from Georgia Tech and Vanderbilt. He plays some tight end in high school, but he will probably be a tackle at the next level. He had 5 receptions for 100 yards as a junior in 2013. He's a 247 Composite 3-star, the #21 tight end, and the #788 player overall.

Kentrail Moran - RB - O'Fallon (IL) O'Fallon: Moran is a 5'10", 180 lb. prospect for 2016 with offers from Illinois and Northern Illinois. He claims a 4.4 forty, a 30" vertical, and a 10.9 time in the 100 meters. As a sophomore in 2013, he had 1,140 rushing yards and 172 receiving yards to go with 14 total touchdowns. His class of 2014 teammate Dewayne Hendrix, a defensive end, signed with Tennessee earlier this month. UPDATE: Moran was unable to make it to Ann Arbor this weekend.

Jeff Thomas - WR - East St. Louis (IL) East St. Louis: Thomas is a 5'10", 167 lb. prospect for 2017 with offers from Kansas, Michigan, and Syracuse. As a freshman in 2013, he had 54 catches for 944 yards and 12 touchdowns. He was a teammate of 2014 Michigan offeree Kyron Watson (Kansas) and will likely be traveling with Kentrail Moran. UPDATE: Moran was going to be Thomas's ride to Ann Arbor, so he also did not visit.

Tyriq Thompson - LB - Detroit (MI) King: I did a scouting report on Thompson a few weeks ago.

Mike Weber - RB - Detroit (MI) Cass Tech: Weber is a 5'11", 190 lb. prospect with offers from Michigan, Michigan State, and Wisconsin, along with several others. Weber had reportedly been leaning toward Michigan State prior to the hiring of offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier, but this will be the second weekend in a row he has spent in Ann Arbor and Nussmeier appears to have piqued Weber's interest. UPDATE: Weber was unable to make it to the Michigan basketball game on Sunday afternoon.

Recruiting Update: January 27, 2014

Stephenville (TX) Stephenville quarterback Jarrett Stidham
ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2014
Fort Lauderdale (FL) University School defensive end Richard Yeargin III decommitted from Notre Dame. He probably would have been an outside linebacker for the Fighting Irish, but he's expected to end up at Clemson now, where I believe he will be a defensive end.

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2015
Corona (CA) Santiago quarterback Blake Barnett was offered by Michigan. He's a 6'3", 195 lb. prospect with offers from Arizona, Cal, and UCLA, among others, and he has been committed to Notre Dame since last November. According to 247's Composite rankings, he's a 4-star, the #6 pro-style QB, and the #135 player overall. As a junior in 2013, he passed for 2,332 yards and 22 touchdowns, and he ran for 695 yards and 13 touchdowns. He runs a spread offense in high school and has a good combination of throwing and running abilities. Following Michigan's offer, he stated that he was solid with Notre Dame but would check into what the policy is on taking other visits, so the offer appears to have stirred at least a little bit of interest.

Princeton (NJ) Princeton running back Johnny Frasier was offered by Michigan. He's a 5'11", 200 lb. prospect with offers from Georgia, North Carolina, and Penn State, among others. According to the 247 Composite, he's a 3-star, the #57 running back, and #651 overall in the class. As a sophomore in 2012, he had 229 carries for 1,792 yards and 21 touchdowns, plus 13 catches for 194 yards and 2 more scores. Frasier has decent speed and vision, but his biggest asset might be his balance; he doesn't run over tacklers, but he bounces off and keeps moving forward.

Berea (KY) Madison Southern running back Damien Harris decommitted from Michigan. Harris had been committed to the Wolverines since summer 2013, but the poor season combined with the departure of offensive coordinator Al Borges has made him rethink some things. His mother went on the record saying that the Wolverines are still #1 on Harris's priority list, but it's rare that kids decommit from a school and then end up signing with that school, the stories of David Dawson and Will Campbell be damned. One school that may benefit is Ohio State, which was high on Harris's list before he chose the Wolverines; however, Michigan was his childhood favorite, so hopefully the 247 Composite #2 running back stays true to his youth.

Cedar Hill (TX) Cedar Hill wide receiver DaMarkus Lodge was offered by Michigan. He's a 6'2", 190 lb. prospect with offers from Auburn, Baylor, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech, among others. He's a 247 Composite 4-star, the #3 WR, and the #52 player overall. As a junior in 2013, he had 72 receptions for 1,255 yards and 22 touchdowns. He has very good speed and runs nice routes, but he is also very likely to stay in the state of Texas.

Orange (CA) Lutheran defensive end Keisean Lucier-South was offered by Michigan. I wrote up a scouting report on him last Friday.

Stephenville (TX) Stephenville quarterback Jarrett Stidham was offered by Michigan. He's a 6'3", 190 lb. prospect with offers from Baylor, Clemson, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Oregon, TCU, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech, among others. He's a 247 Composite 4-star, the #2 dual-threat QB, and #46 overall. As a junior in 2013, he completed 160/268 (60%) of his passes for 2,687 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions; he also ran 143 times for 975 yards (6.8 yards/attempt) and 16 touchdowns. Baylor appears to be the leader for Stidham, which would make some sense because head coach Art Briles was Stephenville's coach before moving on to the college ranks.

Lawrenceville (GA) Central Gwinnett outside linebacker Adonis Thomas was offered by Michigan. He's a 6'4", 215 lb. prospect with offers from Florida, Florida State, Miami, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Texas A&M, among others. He's a 247 Composite 3-star, the #40 athlete, and the #376 player overall. Thomas is listed as an athlete partly because he plays receiver, but he's too stiff to be an offensive player at the next level. He looks like a SAM linebacker who may be able to grow into a weakside end at some point. Florida and Ohio State are two teams out front right now, and Michigan struggles to pull kids out of Georgia.

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2016
Lawrenceville (GA) Central Gwinnett offensive tackle E.J. Price was offered by Michigan. He's a 6'5", 273 lb. prospect with offers from Auburn, Florida State, Miami, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Wisconsin, among others. Price moves very well for a kid his size and should be a left tackle prospect going forward. Price is just the third lineman to have been offered for the 2016 class, following Erik Swenson (who is committed to Michigan already) and Thiyo Lukusa.

Flower Mound (TX) Marcus tight end Kaden Smith was offered by Michigan. He's a 6'5", 235 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Clemson, Oklahoma, and Texas Tech. As a sophomore in 2013, he had 40 receptions for 640 yards (16 yards/catch) and 8 touchdowns. It's early, but Smith is expected to be one of the top couple prospects at his position in the 2016 class. He visited Ann Arbor last summer and appears to have more than passing interest, but the general expectation is that he will stay down south. His school is the alma mater of former Michigan running back Stephen Hopkins.

OFF THE BOARD
Houston (TX) Cypress Falls outside linebacker Otaro Alaka flipped from Texas to Texas A&M.

Manalapan (NJ) Manalapan wide receiver Saeed Blacknall flipped from Rutgers to Penn State. Blacknall was the prize recruit remaining in the Rutgers class that has seen a great deal of attrition in the last couple months, including Michigan running back offeree Jonathan Hilliman (Boston College) and Detroit Country Day quarterback Tyler Wiegers (Iowa).

Goodyear (AZ) Desert Edge outside linebacker Ismael Murphy-Richardson committed to Arizona State. He never exhibited interest in his Michigan offer.

Ventura (CA) St. Bonaventure quarterback Ricky Town decommitted from Alabama and then committed to USC shortly afterward. Town is considered to be one of the top few quarterbacks in the 2015 class, and while he does not hold a Michigan offer, he was recruited to the Crimson Tide by offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier, who now holds the same position for the Wolverines. Michigan has thrown out a few offers for 2015 quarterbacks but is yet to really ignite a ton of interest, so it's worth watching Town and others. I would not expect Town to have serious interest in the Wolverines even if offered, but this is interesting because Elkton (MD) Eastern Christian Academy quarterback David Sills - who holds a Michigan offer - has been committed to USC for several years.

Chandler (AZ) Hamilton offensive tackle Casey Tucker committed to Stanford. Tucker was committed to USC at one time and briefly flirted with interest in playing at Michigan, but he never visited Ann Arbor.

Damien Harris, ex-Wolverine

Berea (KY) Madison Southern running back Damien Harris officially decommitted from Michigan yesterday, which is the second huge decommitment from Michigan's 2015 class, following Tarpon Springs (FL) East Lake wide receiver George Campbell. He originally committed to the Wolverines last August after being offered in the summer of 2012 when he camped in Ann Arbor. In fact, he was the first player to be offered by Michigan in the 2015 class. While no definitive reason has been stated for rescinding his pledge, his family was apparently fond of former offensive coordinator Al Borges; with Borges out the door and Michigan's 15-11 record over the past two seasons, it's somewhat understandable that the 247 Composite #2 running back would have second thoughts. However, it's still disappointing for a Michigan fan base who expected that Harris's love for his childhood favorite would carry him through to National Signing Day in February 2015.

New offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier and running backs coach Fred Jackson visited Harris in his hometown recently, and obviously, Harris wasn't 100% comfortable with the situation. His mother has told recruiting outlets that the Wolverines are still #1 on Harris's list, but the vast majority of kids who decommit end up choosing another school.

Michigan has a few options at this point. They immediately responded by offering Princeton (NJ) Princeton 3-star running back Johnny Frasier, who holds a middling offer list. Detroit (MI) Cass Tech runner Mike Weber has had an offer for a while, but he has stated that Michigan wasn't recruiting him very hard, so it might be hard to get back in the race with him after teams like Michigan State and Tennessee have worked on him. Orlando (FL) Timber Creek's Jacques Patrick has a cousin who coaches in Detroit, and Plano (TX) West's Soso Jamabo holds an offer as well, but both of those players seem like longshots.

Despite a couple mediocre seasons, Michigan still has the brand name and the television presence to pull kids in from around the country. Nussmeier has some different connections and some different philosophies, so it will be interesting to see which players get offered next. Two names I plan to keep an eye on are Hubbard (OH) Hubbard's Larry Scott and East St. Louis (IL) East St. Louis running back Natereace Strong, a teammate of linebacker Kyron Watson, a Kansas commit who was offered in the 2014 class.

Visitors: Michigan vs. Ohio State

Joshua Alabi - DT - Detroit (MI) Cass Tech: Alabi is a 6'5", 270 lb. prospect with offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Tennessee, and others. The Volunteers appear to be the early favorite. He's a 247 Composite 4-star, #29 OT, and #270 overall. UPDATE: Alabi will be headed to MSU instead.

Jason Alessi - S - Birmingham (MI) Brother Rice: Alessi is a 6'0", 170 lb. prospect for 2014 with offers from Air Force, Akron, Harvard, and Yale. He's committed to Michigan as a lacrosse player but was recently offered a preferred walk-on spot with the Wolverines. (Highlights.)

Trevon Avery - CB - Grand Blanc (MI) Grand Blanc: Avery is a 6'1", 165 lb. prospect for 2015 with no offers at this time. He's a 3-star quarterback to Scout. He's also the younger brother of Michigan senior defensive back Courtney Avery.

Jerome Baker - LB - Cleveland (OH) St. Benedictine: Baker is a 6'1", 205 lb. prospect for 2015 with offers from Florida, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Ohio State, and Tennessee, among others. He recently declared Ohio State his clear #1, and it would be a huge surprise if he went anywhere else. He's a 247 Composite 4-star, #6 ATH, and #66 overall. (Highlights.)

Kei Beckham - CB - Trotwood (OH) Trotwood-Madison:
Beckham is a 6'0", 155 lb. prospect for 2015 with offers from Cincinnati, Illinois, and Kentucky, among others. He's a former teammate of Michigan freshman defensive back Reon Dawson and linebacker Mike McCray. (Highlights.)

Ian Bunting - TE - Hinsdale (IL) Central: Bunting committed to Michigan in April.

George Campbell - WR - Tarpon Springs (FL) East Lake: Campbell committed to Michigan in August.

Freddy Canteen - WR - Elkton (MD) Eastern Christian Academy: Canteen committed to Michigan in June.

Stefan Claiborne - WR - Clinton Township (MI) Chippewa Valley: Claiborne is a 6'1", 168 lb. prospect for 2016 with no offers at this time. He also visited Ann Arbor a couple weeks ago for the Nebraska game. (Highlights.)

Brian Cole - WR - Saginaw (MI) Heritage: Cole is a 6'2", 190 lb. prospect for 2015 with offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, and Tennessee, among others. Rumors keep swirling about him going back and forth between favoring Michigan and MSU, so it's anybody's guess right now. He's a 247 Composite 4-star, #5 ATH, and #58 overall. (Highlights.)

Mason Cole - OG - Tarpon Springs (FL) East Lake: Cole committed to Michigan back in February.

C.J. Conrad - TE - La Grange (OH) Keystone: Conrad is a 6'5", 225 lb. prospect for 2015 with offers from Duke, Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky, among others. He's a 247 Composite 4-star, #8 TE, and #228 overall. As a junior in 2013, he had 59 receptions for 924 yards and 14 touchdowns. (Highlights.)

Jashon Cornell - DE - St. Paul (MN) Cretin-Derham Hall: Cornell is a 6'4", 245 lb. prospect for 2015 with offers from just about everywhere. He's a 247 Composite 5-star, #1 WDE, and #15 overall. So far he's the only weakside end Michigan has offered in the class of 2015, and that appears to be purposeful as Michigan pursues him as their #1 guy. Cretin Derham is known for sending guys to Notre Dame, but they've had a number of elite recruits in recent years (Michael Floyd, James Onwualu, Seantrel Henderson) so it's worth keeping up a good relationship. (Highlights.)

Shaun Crawford - CB - Lakewood (OH) St. Edward: Crawford committed to Michigan in August. UPDATE: Crawford can no longer attend the game.

Andrew David - K - Massillon (OH) Washington: David committed to Michigan in June.

Messiah DeWeaver - QB - Trotwood (OH) Trotwood-Madison: DeWeaver is a 6'2", 180 lb. prospect for 2016 with an offer from Louisville. He has visited Michigan several times and camped in Ann Arbor this past June. He attends the alma mater of current Michigan linebacker Michael McCray. (Highlights.)

David Edwards - QB - Downers Grove (IL) North: Edwards is a 6'6", 225 lb. prospect for 2015 with offers from Illinois, Indiana, Syracuse, and Vanderbilt. He's a 247 Composite 4-star, #42 ATH, and #348 overall. Michigan is looking at him partially as a quarterback, but he also might be a tight end, and I think that's the position where Edwards would be more likely to find a slot from Michigan, in my opinion. (Highlights.)

Brendan Ferns - LB - St. Clairsville (OH) St. Clairsville: Ferns is a 6'3", 208 lb. prospect for 2016 with no offers at this time. He's the younger brother of 2014 Michigan linebacker commit Michael Ferns.

Michael Ferns III - LB - St. Clairsville (OH) St. Clairsville: Ferns committed to Michigan in August of last year.

Jimmy Fitzgerald - QB - Champaign (IL) Centennial: Fitzgerald is a 6'3", 205 lb. prospect for 2015 with a lone FBS offer from Illinois. As a sophomore in 2012, he completed 96/195 passes for 1,300 yards, 14 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. He's a 247 Composite 3-star, #26 pro-style QB, and #529 overall. Fitzgerald is one of the handful of quarterbacks that have been in touch with Michigan's coaching staff.

Desmond Fitzpatrick - WR - Farmington (MI) Farmington: Fitzpatrick is a 6'0", 170 lb. prospect for 2016 with offers from Indiana, Ohio, and Toledo. He has visited Michigan a couple times this season and also camped in Ann Arbor last June. (Highlights.)

Zach Gentry - QB - Albuquerque (NM) Eldorado: Gentry is a 6'6", 215 lb. prospect for 2015 with offers from Louisville, New Mexico, New Mexico State, and San Diego State.

Lawrence Gordon - DE - Saginaw (MI) Arthur Hill: Gordon is a 6'5", 230 lb. prospect for 2016 with no offers at this time. He has visited Michigan a couple times and appears to be one of the top few in-state prospects for his class.

Dele Harding - LB - Elkton (MD) Eastern Christian Academy: Harding is a 6'1", 218 lb. prospect for 2016 with offers from UMass, Tennessee, and USC. He's a teammate of 2014 Michigan commits Freddy Canteen and Brandon Watson. He visited Ann Arbor with his teammates back in July and genuinely seemed interested in Michigan at the time those two committed, partly because Michigan's coaches intimated to him that he would be offered down the road but felt it was too early to offer many 2016 guys.

Damien Harris - RB - Berea (KY) Madison Southern: Harris committed to Michigan in August. He is having an outstanding junior season and was recently ranked the #17 overall prospect in his class by ESPN.

Drake Harris - WR - Grand Rapids (MI) Christian: Harris committed to Michigan in April. He did not play during his senior season due to a serious hamstring injury suffered in the preseason.

Daelin Hayes - LB - Orchard Lake (MI) St. Mary's: Hayes is a 6'2", 210 lb. prospect for 2016 with no offers at this time. The younger brother of Michigan redshirt sophomore running back Justice Hayes, Daelin has visited Penn State and Notre Dame in recent weeks and appears enamored with those squads. The fact that his brother is mostly buried on the depth chart probably does not help.

Lavert Hill - CB - Detroit (MI) Cass Tech: Hill is a 5'11", 165 lb. prospect for 2016 with no offers at this time. He's the younger brother of Michigan freshman safety Delano Hill. He has visited Michigan for most home games this year.

Justin Hilliard - LB - Cincinnati (OH) St. Xavier: Hilliard is a 6'2", 225 lb. prospect for 2015 with offers from Alabama, Iowa, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Ohio State, among others. His brother C.J. Hilliard is a 2014 commit to the Hawkeyes. I did a scouting report on Hilliard a couple weeks ago.

Elijah Holyfield - RB - Atlanta (GA) Woodward Academy: Holyfield is a 5'11", 190 lb. prospect for 2016 with a lone offer from Boston College. As a freshman in 2012, he had 66 carries for 645 yards and 10 touchdowns. He's the son of famed boxer Evander Holyfield. (Highlights.) UPDATE: Holyfield no longer plans to attend.

Joshua Jackson - WR - Saline (MI) Saline: Jackson is a 6'1", 180 lb. prospect for 2016 with no offers at this time. He's the younger brother of Michigan senior wideout Jeremy Jackson and the son of running backs coach Fred Jackson.

Sterling Jenkins - OT - Pittsburgh (PA) Baldwin: Jenkins is a 6'8", 305 lb. prospect for 2015. I did a scouting report on him a few weeks ago.

Nick Johns - QB - Washington (DC) Gonzaga: Johns is a 6'3", 215 lb. prospect for 2015 with an offer from Virginia. He's another on the short list of quarterbacks Michigan has been in contact with for the upcoming recruiting cycle. He's a 247 Composite 3-star, #30 pro-style QB, and #575 overall. (Highlights.)

Tyree Kinnel - S - Huber Heights (OH) Wayne: Kinnel committed to Michigan in August.

Darrin Kirkland, Jr. - LB - Indianapolis (IN) Lawrence Central: Kirkland is a 6'2", 215 lb. prospect for 2015 with offers from Illinois, Indiana, Louisville, Northwestern, and Virginia Tech, among others. He's a 247 Composite 4-star, #9 ILB, and #245 overall. He also visited for the Nebraska game. (Highlights.)

Thiyo Lukusa - OT - Traverse City (MI) West: Lukusa is a 6'5", 300 lb. prospect for 2016 with an offer from Michigan State. He has visited Michigan a couple times this season and also camped in Ann Arbor in June. (Highlights.) UPDATE: Lukusa is no longer planning to attend.

Kendric Mallory - WR - Trotwood (OH) Trotwood-Madison: Mallory is a 6'2", 175 lb. prospect for 2014 with an offer from Illinois. He's also the former teammate of Reon Dawson and Mike McCray.

Corey Malone-Hatcher - DE - St. Joseph (MI) St. Joseph: Malone-Hatcher is a 6'3", 205 lb. prospect for 2017 with no offers at this time.

Alex Malzone - QB - Birmingham (MI) Brother Rice: Malzone is a 6'2", 185 lb. prospect for 2015 with an offer from Bowling Green. He's perhaps Michigan's top in-state quarterback target for the class, but likely a second-level option if other national targets don't pan out. (Highlights.)

Lawrence Marshall - DE - Southfield (MI) Southfield: Marshall committed to Michigan in May. Earlier in the spring, he had been committed to Ohio State.

Jalen Martin - WR - Harper Woods (MI) Chandler Park Academy: Martin is a 6'2", 180 lb. prospect for 2016 with a lone offer from Eastern Michigan. He attends the alma mater of Michigan freshman wide receiver Csont'e York.

Ostell Martin - OT - Detroit (MI) Cass Tech: Martin is a 6'5", 315 lb. prospect for 2016 with no offers at this time. He visited Michigan's campus a couple times back in the spring.

Malik McDowell - DE - Southfield (MI) Southfield: McDowell is a 6'7", 290 lb. prospect for 2014 with offers from all over the country. He has alternately been rumored to be a Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, and USC lean, but the current vibe is that Michigan would be the choice if he picked today.

Tanner Muse - LB - Belmont (NC) South Point: Muse is a 6'3", 207 lb. prospect for 2015 with offers from Clemson, Michigan, North Carolina, and North Carolina State, among others. He's a 247 Composite 4-star, #17 safety, and #297 overall, although I believe he'll be a linebacker in college. UPDATE: Muse no longer plans to attend.

Michael Onwenu - DT - Detroit (MI) Cass Tech: Onwenu is a 6'2", 310 lb. prospect for 2016 with no offers at this time.

Brady Pallante - DT - Naples (FL) Barron Collier: Pallante committed to Michigan in April as a greyshirt and became a full scholarship member of the 2014 class earlier this week.

Jacques Patrick - RB - Orlando (FL) Timber Creek: Patrick is a 6'1", 210 lb. prospect for 2015 with offers from Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, USC, Wisconsin, and numerous others. He claims a 4.51 forty and is a 247 Composite 4-star, #7 RB, and #82 overall. As a sophomore in 2012, he had 231 carries for 2,032 yards and 29 touchdowns. It will likely be an in-state battle for his services, but he was excited about his Michigan offer and has a cousin coaching at Detroit King. (Highlights.) UPDATE: Patrick can no longer attend the game.

Donovan Peoples-Jones - WR - Detroit (MI) Cass Tech: Peoples-Jones is a 6'1", 170 lb. prospect for 2017 with no offers at this time.

Jabrill Peppers - CB - Paramus (NJ) Catholic: Peppers committed to Michigan in May. He's in the midst of an outstanding senior season and was named 247 Sports' #3 overall player. UPDATE: Peppers' playoff practice schedule will prevent him from visiting this weekend.

Martell Pettaway - RB - St. Clair Shores (MI) South Lake: Pettaway is a 5'9", 185 lb. prospect for 2016 with no offers at this time. He has visited Michigan several times early in the process. (Highlights.)

Giovanni Rescigno - QB - Warren (MI) De La Salle: Rescigno is a 6'4", 210 lb. prospect for 2014. He has no scholarship offers but was recently offered a preferred walk-on spot with the Wolverines. He has visited several times and is the teammate of 2014 Michigan commit Jared Wangler and best friends with freshman QB Shane Morris.

Darian Roseboro - DE - Lincolnton (NC) Lincolnton: Roseboro is a 6'4", 265 lb. prospect for 2015 with offers from Auburn, Clemson, Michigan, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Ohio State, and Tennessee, among others. He's a 247 Composite 4-star, #7 SDE, and #97 overall. UPDATE: Roseboro can no longer attend the game.

Joshua Ross - LB - Orchard Lake (MI) St. Mary's: Ross is a 6'2", 190 lb. prospect for 2017 with offers from Oklahoma and Michigan State. He's the younger brother of Michigan sophomore linebacker James Ross.

Tommy Roush - OG - Traverse City (MI) West: Roush is a 6'3", 270 lb. prospect for 2016 with no offers at this time. He camped at Michigan back in June and also visited for a game earlier this season.

Prince Sammons - DE - Cincinnati (OH) Hills Christian Academy: Sammons is a 6'8", 260 lb. prospect for 2016 with an offer from Cincinnati.

Wilton Speight - QB - Richmond (VA) Collegiate: Speight committed to Michigan in February. He recently completed a solid season.

Erik Swenson - OT - Downers Grove (IL) South: Swenson is a 6'7", 285 lb. prospect for 2016 with offers from Illinois, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Ohio State, among others. He has long declared Michigan his leader. (Highlights.)

Demetric Vance - WR - Detroit (MI) Cass Tech: Vance is a 6'1", 170 lb. prospect for 2016 with no offers at this time. He has garnered some hype for being perhaps the best wide receiver prospect out of Cass Tech in a while, but he still has a couple years to develop.

Jared Wangler - LB - Warren (MI) De La Salle: Wangler committed to Michigan in August.

Brandon Watson - CB - Elkton (MD) Eastern Christian Academy: Watson committed to Michigan in June.

Maurice Ways - WR - Detroit (MI) Country Day: Ways committed to Michigan in April. Here's a look at how his senior season went.

Mike Weber - RB - Detroit (MI) Cass Tech: Weber is a 5'10", 195 lb. prospect for 2015 with offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Ohio State, and Tennessee. Michigan was the early favorite, but he seems to be leaning toward MSU after fellow 2015 running back Damien Harris committed to Michigan a few months ago. (Highlights.) UPDATE: Weber is no longer able to attend the game.

Tyrone Wheatley, Jr. - TE - Manlius (NY) Canisius: Wheatley is a 6'6", 235 lb. prospect for 2016 with offers from Alabama, Michigan, Penn State, and others. He's the son of Tyrone Wheatley, a former Michigan and NFL running back who is the current running backs coach for the Buffalo Bills. The presumed favorite is the Wolverines.

Jhonny Williams - DE - Berrien Springs (MI) Berrien Springs: Williams is a 6'6", 237 lb. prospect for 2014 who is committed to Missouri. He has also received a Notre Dame offer, and while Michigan's offer is intriguing, it seems that his choice will come down to Mizzou or the Fighting Irish. (Highlights.) UPDATE: Williams will not be in attendance, and he changed his commitment to the Fighting Irish.

Mykelti Williams - S - Indianapolis (IN) Warren Central: Williams is a 6'0", 195 lb. prospect for 2015 with offers from Akron, Indiana, and Ole Miss. He claims a 4.5 forty and is a 247 Composite 3-star, #35 safety, and #565 overall. (Highlights.)

Reagan Williams - LB - Jackson (OH) Jackson: Williams is a 6'3", 232 lb. prospect for 2015 with offers from Kent State and Ohio. As a sophomore in 2012, he had 94 tackles, 8 tackles for loss, and 4 sacks. (Highlights.)

Khari Willis - RB - Jackson (MI) Lumen Christi: Willis is a 6'0", 187 lb. prospect for 2015 with no offers at this time. (Highlights.)

Chase Winovich - LB - Clairton (PA) Thomas Jefferson: Winovich committed to Michigan in June. He just completed an impressive senior season of playing quarterback and linebacker.

Recruiting Update: August 5, 2013

George Campbell, Jr.
COMMITMENTS
Tarpon Springs (FL) East Lake wide receiver George Campbell, Jr. committed to Michigan.

Berea (KY) Madison Southern running back Damien Harris committed to Michigan.

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2014
Warren (MI) De La Salle linebacker Jared Wangler was offered by Michigan. He's a 6'1", 218 lb. prospect who's committed to Penn State and has offers from Cincinnati, Indiana, Michigan State, and a bunch of MAC schools. He's also the son of former Michigan quarterback John Wangler and the brother of incoming freshman walk-on wideout Jack. As a junior in 2012, he had 76 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, and 1 interception, which was returned for a touchdown. 247's Composite ranking places him as a3-star, the #69 overall player, and the #844 player overall. He will play in the Under Armour All-American Game. Michigan is recruiting him as a SAM linebacker, but he's a little short for the position.

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2015
Huber Heights (OH) Wayne safety Tyree Kinnel was offered by Michigan. He's a 6'0", 190 lb. prospect with offers from Arkansas and Kentucky, too. He has visited Michigan several times this offseason and was clearly angling for an offer from Michigan, even mentioning that he was a little bit upset that they hadn't offered. He attends the alma mater of former Michigan players Terrence and Terry Talbott, two brothers who didn't last long in Michigan uniforms, and current Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller. This is a bit of an odd offer because Kinnel is smaller than most of the guys Michigan offers at safety, but he's a solid tackler with decent ball skills. He's a little bit reminiscent of current starting safety Thomas Gordon.

OFF THE BOARD
Scottsdale (AZ) Desert Mountain wide receiver Mark Andrews committed to Oklahoma. The 6'6", 230-pounder really wanted to play wide receiver in college and was a little bit put off by Michigan's intention to turn him into a tight end. The coaches did eventually tell him that he could play wide receiver, but he just wasn't that interested.

New Castle (PA) New Castle safety Malik Hooker committed to Ohio State. Hooker was being recruited as a cornerback by Michigan and could also play wide receiver, but the Buckeyes are taking him as a safety.

Fort Worth (TX) All Saints Episcopal offensive guard Demetrius Knox committed to Ohio State. Knox had previously been committed to Texas, but the chance to get arrested play for Urban Meyer was too enticing.

Lee's Summit (MO) Lee's Summit outside linebacker Jimmie Swain IV committed to TCU. Michigan was recruiting Swain even after the commitment of Noah Furbush, and the offer to Jared Wangler may be the result of Swain committing elsewhere.

Fort Lauderdale (FL) University School defensive end/outside linebacker Richard Yeargin III committed to Notre Dame. Along with Hooker and Swain, Yeargin had Michigan in his small group of finalists.

Damien Harris, Wolverine

Berea (KY) Madison Southern running back Damien Harris
Berea (KY) Madison Southern running back Damien Harris committed to Michigan last Monday. He chose the Wolverines over offers from Florida, Notre Dame, Ohio State, South Carolina, Tennessee, and several others.

Harris is a 5'11", 205 lb. prospect who claims a 4.4 forty. As a freshman on varsity in 2011, he had 62 carries for 742 yards and 11 touchdowns. His sophomore year netted 144 carries for 1,778 yards and 35 touchdowns.

RATINGS
ESPN: 4-star, 84 grade, #3 running back, #20 overall
Rivals: N/A
Scout: N/A
247 Sports: 4-star, 94 grade, #10 running back, #91 overall

Harris camped at Michigan prior to his 2012 sophomore season, netting an offer from the Wolverines at the time. As his childhood favorite, Michigan was at the top of his list the entire time. Ohio State was considered to be the main contender, and he even said they were tied at the top not too long ago, but that obviously didn't last long.

There are a lot of things to like about Harris, as evidenced by his recruiting rankings. He does have very good flat-out speed, which means he's very difficult to catch once he hits the open field. He also shows good acceleration through the hole, so it doesn't take him long to hit top speed. He's pretty thickly built with a frame that reminds me a little bit of Boise State alum and current Tampa Bay Buccaneer Doug Martin, although their running styles are a little different. Harris isn't afraid to lower his shoulder, especially against second- and third-level guys. When he's near the sideline, he uses good body lean to take contact and stay inbounds. He also shows the ability to stay low through traffic and grind for yards, although he doesn't have to do that very often against Madison Southern's competition. Additionally, he throws some great blocks in the running game; he won't have to block much for other runners in college, but that shows a willingness to block for his teammates, which bodes well for pass protection.

As mentioned above, the competition level for Madison Southern is very questionable. Harris is clearly faster than anyone he plays against, and the opponents aren't very big, either. Those inflated statistics would drop off somewhat against good competition, but that's not his fault. The team runs some dive option stuff that won't be a part of his college playbook, but they also run some I-formation plays that should prepare him a little bit for what he'll run at Michigan. Aside from those institution "shortcomings," I see a couple flaws in Harris's game. I think he turns his shoulders a little too much, especially before he hits the second level, and that takes away from some of his power. He also lacks some suddenness, so he'll be mostly a downhill power runner with speed; he's probably not a guy who will be able to dance to daylight at the next level.

Overall, I think Harris has excellent potential. With the way Michigan is recruiting the offensive line, I think he'll be able to show off his talents by hitting the hole hard, lowering his shoulder, and then outrunning some people. He might struggle to create for himself, but hopefully he won't have to worry about that very often. He could be an all-conference type of player, if not All-American.

This is Michigan's fourth commitment for the 2015 class and the first running back. Unless Michigan pulls off a surprise in the 2014 class, the coaches are expected to take at least two runners in 2015. The program has not recruited Kentucky heavily over the years, but they have secured commitments from Kentuckians like Jeremy Clark, Brandent Englemon, and Brandon Logan over the years.

TTB Rating: I will not assign ratings for the 2015 class until the 2014 class wraps up.

Here are Harris's Hudl highlights.

2013 Michigan Summer Camp Attendees

Berea (KY) Madison Southern running back Damien Harris (image via MaxPreps)
Michigan's summer camp will be held on June 16-19 this year. Here is a partial list of players who plan to attend. You can view last year's participants, which included guys like Dante Booker, Orlando Brown, Drake Harris, Corey Holmes, Demetrius Knox, D'Andre Payne, Gelen Robinson, and Damon Webb, along with lots of others; not included in that list was under-the-radar prospect Channing Stribling, who earned an offer and committed shortly afterward. I will add to this list as more names become available.

UPDATE: Okay, I've updated the list after camp finished with a few more player names. This should be the final update. I've listed 87 prospects in all!

2014 PROSPECTS
Jacob Betschel - TE - Jackson (OH) Jackson: Betschel is a 6'4", 235 lb. prospect with no offers at this time.

Asantay Brown - WR - Muskegon (MI) Mona Shores: Brown is a 6'0", 187 lb. prospect with offers from Buffalo and Eastern Michigan. As a junior in 2012, he had 45 catches for 838 yards and 11 touchdowns; he also had 50 tackles, 6 interceptions, 7 pass breakups, and 3 fumble recoveries.

Josh Cousar - DT - Matthews (NC) Butler: Cousar is a 6'1", 290 lb. prospect with no offers at this time. He attends the alma mater of incoming freshman cornerback Channing Stribling.

Jamal Davis - LB - Canton (OH) McKinley: Davis is a 6'2", 215 lb. prospect with offers from Indiana, Louisville, Marshall, and Minnesota, along with a few MAC teams. He claims a 4.6 forty.

Jalen Embry - CB - Detroit (MI) King: Embry is a 5'11", 180 lb. prospect with offers from Cincinnati and a bunch of MAC schools. According to 247's Composite ranking, he's a 3-star, the #72 cornerback, and #928 player overall. At one time some analysts thought Embry would be in line for a Michigan offer, but the commitment of Jabrill Peppers makes the class a little tighter.

Daurice Fountain - WR - Madison (WI) Memorial: Fountain is a 6'2", 175 lb. prospect with no offers at this time.

Tajhe Hartley - LB - Chicago (IL) Morgan Park: Hartley is a 6'2", 205 lb. prospect with no offers at this time. He's a little bit slow for a linebacker, so he's probably looking at bulking up to play defensive end at some point.

Jamie Herr - OT - Elkton (MD) Eastern Christian: Herr is a 6'5", 270 lb. prospect with offers from Boston College, North Carolina State, Pitt, Rutgers, and West Virginia, among others. According to 247's Composite ranking, he's a 3-star, the #71 offensive tackle, and the #900 player overall.

William Hunt - LB - Muskegon (MI) Muskegon: Hunt is a 5'11", 225 lb. prospect with no offers at this time.

Ashton Jackson - RB - Trotwood (OH) Trotwood-Madison: Jackson is a 6'0", 192 lb. prospect with offers from Cincinnati, Illinois, and Purdue, along with a few MAC schools. According to 247's Composite ranking, he's a 3-star, the #41 running back, and the #562 player overall.

Kendric Mallory - WR - Trotwood (OH) Trotwood-Madison: Mallory is a 6'2", 175 lb. prospect with an offer from Illinois. According to 247's Composite ranking, he's a 3-star and the #167 wide receiver in his class.

Andrew Mike - OT - Tucson (AZ) Sabino: Mike is a 6'7", 270 lb. prospect with offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, Penn State, USC, Vanderbilt, and Washington, among others. He does not hold an offer from Michigan, but one might be forthcoming once he hits campus; he does not plan to participate in the camp itself, but he will visit the school during the week. Mike is a 4-star, the #20 OT, and #244 player overall in this class. He does not have great footwork or foot speed, so he's probably more of a right tackle prospect if Michigan offers.

Aaron Miller - OT - San Diego (CA) Scripps Ranch: Miller is a 6'6", 275 lb. prospect with no offers at this time.

Nathan Oquendo - C - Chicago (IL) Mt. Carmel: Oquendo is a 6'2", 290 lb. prospect with offers from Eastern Michigan, Purdue, and Western Michigan, along with a couple others. According to 247's Composite ranking, he's a 3-star and the #21 center.

Kyle Rachwal - TE - Lapeer (MI) East: Rachwal is a 6'3", 220 lb. prospect with offers from Eastern Michigan and Houston. According to 247 Sports, he's a 3-star and the #57 tight end. Michigan is now recruiting him as a fullback, although they have not offered him and are unlikely to do so.

Gelen Robinson - DE - St. John (IN) Lake Central: Robinson is a 6'2", 232 lb. prospect with offers from Illinois, Indiana, Purdue, Vanderbilt, and several others. He's the son of former Purdue basketball player (and NBA player) Glenn Robinson and brother of current Michigan basketball player Glenn Robinson III. According to 247's Composite ranking, he's a 3-star, the #28 strongside end, and the #664 player overall. As a junior in 2012, he had 95 tackles, 47 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, and 5 forced fumbles.

Drue Tranquill - LB - Fort Wayne (IN) Carroll: Tranquill is a 6'2", 200 lb. prospect with offers from Cincinnati, Indiana, Minnesota, and a bunch of MAC schools. As a junior in 2012, he had 40 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, and 1 interception. According to 247 Sports, he's a 3-star and the #72 safety in the class.

Kalani Vakameilalo - DT - Kapolei (HI) Kapolei: Vakameilalo is a 6'4", 290 lb. prospect. I have been unable to find much information on him, but it looks like he does have several FBS offers.

Chekiah Washington - CB - Mansfield (OH) Mansfield: Washington is a 5'11", 183 lb. prospect with no offers at this time.

Maurice Ways - WR - Detroit (MI) Country Day: Ways committed to Michigan in April.

Verondtae Wilkinson - LB - Trotwood (OH) Trotwood-Madison: Wilkinson is a 6'2", 220 lb. prospect with offers from Buffalo, Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio, and Toledo. While a little undersized for the position, Wilkinson looks more like a defensive end at the next level; he's a little bit stiff for linebacker. He attends the alma mater of 2013 Michigan signees Mike McCray and Reon Dawson.

Blake Williams - DE - Romeo (MI) Romeo: Williams is a 6'4", 215 lb. prospect with no offers at this time. He is listed as a tight end in various places, but he looks more like a defensive end to me.

2015 PROSPECTS
Austin Aaron - WR - Napa (CA) Napa: Aaron is a 6'5", 202 lb. prospect.  As a sophomore in 2012, he had 32 receptions for 543 yards and 6 touchdowns.

Trevon Avery - CB - Grand Blanc (MI) Grand Blanc: Avery is a 5'9", 160 lb. prospect. He's the younger brother of Michigan cornerback Courtney Avery.

Jerome Baker - LB - Cleveland (OH) Benedictine: Baker is a 6'1", 205 lb. prospect with offers from Florida, Nebraska, Ohio State, and Tennessee, among others. He claims a 4.54 forty. According to 247 Sports he's a 4-star athlete, the #4 athlete, and the #52 player in the class. He was planning a visit to Michigan several weeks ago, and it was thought that he would be offered when he arrived on campus; if he makes it in this time, I would expect him to be offered.

Alex Barnes - RB - Pittsburg (KS) Pittsburg: Barnes is a 6'0", 208 lb. prospect with no offers at this time.

Jack Bates - LB - Grand Rapids (MI) Christian: Bates is a 6'3", 200 lb. prospect with no offers at this time. He's the teammate of 2014 Michigan wide receiver commit Drake Harris.

Kei Beckham - CB - Trotwood (OH) Trotwood-Madison: Beckham is a 6'0", 155 lb. prospect with an offer from Illinois. As a sophomore in 2012, he had 30 tackles and 5 pass breakups. He was the teammate of 2013 Michigan signees Reon Dawson and Mike McCray II.

Ryan Boyle - QB - Des Moines (IA) Dowling Catholic: Boyle is a 6'2", 190 lb. prospect with no offers at this time. As a sophomore in 2012, he was 50/71 passing for 709 yards, 6 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions; he also had 233 rushing yards and 1 touchdown. He attends the alma mater of Michigan sophomore wide receiver Amara Darboh.

Ray Buford - CB - Southfield (MI) Southfield: Buford is a 6'0", 170 lb. prospect with no offers at this time. He has visited Michigan previously, and he's the teammate of 2014 Michigan defensive end commit Lawrence Marshall.

Cole Chewins - TE - Clarkston (MI) Clarkston: Chewins is a 6'7", 208 lb. prospect with no offers at this time.

Brian Cole - WR - Saginaw (MI) Heritage: Cole is a 6'2", 190 lb. prospect with offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, and Tennessee. According to 247 Sports, he's a 4-star, the #9 cornerback, and the #72 overall player in the class.

Wyatt Cook - LB - Owings Mills (MD) McDonogh: Cook is a 6'3", 230 lb. prospect with no offers at this time.

Rob Dowdy - OT - Westerville (OH) South: Dowdy is a 6'6", 280 lb. prospect with offers from Arkansas, Illinois, and Kentucky, among others. He also visited Michigan back in April and may be on the verge of an offer.

Andrew Dowell - RB - Lakewood (OH) St. Edward: Dowell is a 6'0", 195 lb. prospect with no offers at this time.

David Dowell - WR - Lakewood (OH) St. Edward: Dowell is a 6'1", 175 lb. prospect with no offers at this time.  He attends the alma mater of redshirt freshman offensive guard Kyle Kalis and 2015 cornerback offeree Shaun Crawford.

Chuma Edoga - OG - Powder Springs (GA) McEachern: Edoga is a 6'4", 265 lb. prospect with offers from Arkansas, Auburn, Clemson, and Florida State, among others.  He grew up as a Michigan fan and this will be his first visit to Ann Arbor.

David Edwards - TE - Downers Grove (IL) North: Edwards is a 6'6", 225 lb. prospect with offers from Illinois and Vanderbilt. As a sophomore in 2012, he had 502 passing yards and 3 touchdowns, along with 719 rushing yards and 9 touchdowns. He's teammates with 2016 offensive tackle offeree Erik Swenson.

Qi'ante Ewing - LB - Grand Rapids (MI) Christian: Ewing is a 6'1", 229 lb. prospect with no offers at this time. He's the teammate of 2014 Michigan wide receiver commit Drake Harris.

Pat Ford - QB - Cuyahoga Falls (OH) Walsh Jesuit: Walsh is a 6'5", 200 lb. prospect with no offers at this time.

Hjalte Froholdt - DT - Warren (OH) Harding: Froholdt is a 6'5", 265 lb. prospect with offers from Arkansas, Michigan, Michigan State, and Ohio State, among others. Right now he looks like a strongside defensive end, but I believe he'll grow into a defensive tackle. 247 Sports ranks him as a 4-star, the #11 weakside end, and the #153 player overall.

Reggie Gallaspy - RB - Greensboro (NC) Southern Guilford: Gallaspy is a 5'11", 205 lb. prospect with offers from North Carolina, North Carolina State, and Virginia, along with a couple others. He grew up in Flint, MI, and is aiming for a Michigan offer. As a sophomore in 2012, he had 177 carries for 1,751 yards and 20 touchdowns.

Eric Glover-Williams - CB - Canton (OH) McKinley: Glover-Williams is a 5'11", 165 lb. prospect with offers from Arkansas, Cincinnati, Illinois, Michigan State, Nebraska, Ohio State, Pitt, Tennessee, and West Virginia, among others. To 247 Sports he's a 4-star, the #10 cornerback, and the #84 player in his class.

Chris Green - LB - Toledo (OH) Central Catholic: Green is a 6'0", 226 lb. prospect with offers from Bowling Green and Toledo. As a sophomore in 2012, he had 96 tackles, 5 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles. To 247 Sports he's a 4-star, the #3 inside linebacker, and the #163 overall player for 2015. There's at least one regular visitor to TTB who's dying for Green to be offered by Michigan, but I'm not as sold on him as an elite prospect.

Damien Harris - RB - Berea (KY) Madison Southern: Harris is a 5'10", 197 lb. prospect with offers from Florida, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Tennessee, among others. As a sophomore in 2012, he had 160 carries for 1,911 yards and 37 touchdowns. He also camped at Michigan last summer - where he earned an offer - and visited for the 2012 game against Michigan State, so he's familiar with the school and has named Michigan his leader on several occasions.  247 Sports has ranked him a 4-star, the #10 running back, and the #90 overall prospect for his class.

Anthony Herbert - OG - Lapeer (MI) East: Herbert is a 6'4", 310 lb. prospect with no offers at this time.

Justin Hilliard - LB - Cincinnati (OH) St. Xavier: Hilliard is a 6'2", 225 lb. prospect with offers from Arkansas, Miami, Michigan State, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Penn State, and South Carolina, among others. As a sophomore in 2012, he had 65 tackles, 7 sacks, 2 interceptions, and 1 forced fumble. With his size and athleticism, I think he could play any of the three linebacker positions at Michigan, depending on how he fills out.

Tyree Jackson - QB - Muskegon (MI) Mona Shores: Jackson is a 6'4", 173 lb. prospect with no offers at this time. As a sophomore in 2012, he completed 116/209 passes for 1,806 yards, 18 touchdowns, and 4 touchdowns.

Harrison Johnson - CB - Trotwood (OH) Trotwood-Madison: Johnson is a 5'10", 170 lb. prospect with an offer from Illinois.

Tyree Kinnel - S - Huber Heights (OH) Wayne: Kinnel is a 6'0", 190 lb. prospect for with offers from Arkansas and Kentucky.  He has visited Michigan numerous times last fall and this spring.  Wayne produced a couple Michigan commits a few years ago - brothers Terrence and Terry Talbott, who both departed early - and current Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller.

Evan Mallory - OG - Brownsburg (IN) Brownsburg: Mallory is a 6'5", 295 lb. prospect with no offers at this time.

Alex Malzone - QB - Birmingham (MI) Brother Rice: Malzone is a 6'2", 185 lb. prospect with no offers at this time. As a sophomore backup in 2012, he had 500 yards passing for 7 touchdowns.

Jimmy Martin - LB - Maitland (FL) Christian: Martin is a 5'11", 203 lb. prospect with an offer from Florida International. He has visited Michigan a couple times already and expressed strong interest in getting an offer. His sister plays water polo for the Wolverines.

Osa Masina - LB - Salt Lake City (UT) Brighton: Masina is a 6'4", 207 lb. prospect with offers from BYU, Michigan, Oklahoma, UCLA, Utah, and Wisconsin, among others. Utah is the presumed leader, but Michigan has pulled a couple kids out of Utah recently (Sione Houma, Bryan Mone), so their presence may help in his recruitment.

Anthony McKee - LB - Columbus (OH) Walnut Ridge: McKee is a 6'2", 190 lb. prospect with offers from Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, and a few MAC schools. As a sophomore in 2012, he had 116 tackles, 3 sacks, 2 interceptions, 3 forced fumbles, and 2 fumble recoveries. Michigan pursued a 2013 wide receiver from his high school (Rob Wheelwright) who picked Wisconsin.

Gabe Megginson - OG - Jacksonville (IN) Jacksonville: Megginson is a 6'5", 295 lb. prospect with an offer from Akron.

Tyrone Miller - S - Saline (MI) Saline: Miller is a 6'0", 165 lb. prospect with no offers at this time. He played at Ann Arbor (MI) Pioneer in 2012 but is transferring to Saline for his junior year.

Jaye Miner - S - Wesley Chapel (FL) Wiregrass Ranch: Miner is a 6'3", 185 lb. prospect with no offers at this time. As a sophomore in 2012, he had 53 tackles, 3 pass breakups, and 1 sack.

David Moorman - OT - Northville (MI) Northville: Moorman is a 6'5", 275 lb. prospect with an offer from Central Michigan. He looks like a future offensive guard to me, but I do think he'll get some bigger offers than CMU.

LaMont Ragland - DT - Dayton (OH) Jefferson: Ragland is a 6'1", 260 lb. prospect with no offers at this time.

Romello Ross - CB - Detroit (MI) Western International: Ross is a 5'10", 170 lb. prospect with no offers at this time. He also visited Michigan back in the fall.

Jon Runyan, Jr. - OG - Philadelphia (PA) St. Joseph's: Runyan is a 6'4", 250 lb. prospect with no offers at this time. His father Jon was an All-American offensive tackle at Michigan and then played for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Tyson Smith - CB - Orchard Lake (MI) St. Mary's: Smith is a 5'11", 175 lb. prospect with no offers at this time. He attends the alma mater of Michigan sophomore linebacker James Ross.

Kyonta Stallworth - OG - St. Clair Shores (MI) South Lake: Stallworth is a 6'4", 265 lb. prospect with offers from Florida and UCLA. 247 Sports ranks him as a 4-star, the #16 offensive tackle, and the #171 overall player.

Elijah Taylor - DT - Cincinnati (OH) Moeller: Taylor is a 6'3", 250 lb. prospect with offers from Illinois, Michigan State, and West Virginia. 247 Sports ranks him as a 4-star, the #13 defensive tackle, and the #130 player overall.

Garrett Taylor - CB - Richmond (VA) St. Christopher's: Taylor is a 6'1", 180 lb. prospect with offers from Clemson, Iowa, Nebraska, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Stanford, Virginia, and Virginia Tech, among others. He's the teammate of highly touted defensive end/linebacker Ricky DeBerry, and both play in the same league as 2014 Michigan quarterback commit Wilton Speight.

Jared Thomas - OG - Indianapolis (IN) Cathedral: Thomas is a 6'3", 240 lb. prospect with no offers at this time.

Tyriq Thompson - S - Detroit (MI) King: Thompson is a 6'1", 200 lb. prospect with an offer from Illinois. This will be his first year playing ball in Michigan after moving from Missouri. Thompson is the son of former Michigan Wolverines safety Clarence Thompson.

Justin Tranquill - S - Fort Wayne (IN) Carroll: Tranquill is a 5'11", 175 lb. prospect with an offer from Toledo. His older brother Drue, a 2014 prospect, also camped.

Jon Wassink - QB - Grand Rapids (MI) South Christian: Wassink is a 6'2", 190 lb. prospect with no offers at this time. As a sophomore in 2012, he had 2,777 passing yards, 820 rushing yards, 24 passing touchdowns, and 9 rushing touchdowns.

Mike Williams - DT - Alliance (OH) Alliance: Williams is a 6'4", 268 lb. prospect with no offers at this time. As a sophomore in 2012, he had 84 tackles, 4 sacks, and 3 forced fumbles. Class of 2013 safety Dymonte Thomas came from Alliance, but attended Marlington High School.

Tyler Woodley - CB - Powder Springs (GA) McEachern: Woodley is a 5'11", 174 lb. prospect with no offers at this time. He's the teammate of Edoga (see above) and a cousin of former Michigan defensive end/current Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker LaMarr Woodley.

Danil Young - CB - Grandville (MI) Grandville: Young is a 5'10", 165 lb. prospect with a lone offer from Ohio. He also plays quarterback, but due to his lack of size, he'll probably end up on defense.

2016 PROSPECTS

Chris Daniels - DE - Muskegon (MI) Mona Shores: Daniels is a 6'4", 240 lb. prospect with no offers at this time.

Elijah Deveaux - WR - Charlotte (NC) Christian: Deveaux is a 6'1", 185 lb. prospect with an offer from Mississippi State. As a freshman in 2012, he had 400 rushing yards, 6 touchdowns, and a defensive touchdown. His father played for Pitt, who is the early leader despite not having offered.

DeWeaver is a 6'2", 180 lb. prospect with no offers at this time.

Some analysts believe Falcon will be the top in-state player for the 2016 class.

Desmond Fitzpatrick - WR - Farmington Hills (MI) Harrison: Fitzpatrick is a 5'11", 165 lb. prospect with a lone offer from Indiana. He attends the alma mater of Michigan sophomore tight end Devin Funchess and defensive end Mario Ojemudia, and he will probably be one of the top few in-state prospects for his class.

Kentrail Moran - RB - O'Fallon (IL) O'Fallon: Moran is a 5'10", 180 lb. prospect with a lone offer from Northern Illinois. As a freshman in 2012, he had 700 rushing yards and 6 touchdowns, along with 248 receiving yards and 1 touchdown. He also claims a 4.4 forty.

Robert Washington - RB - Huntersville (NC) SouthLake Christian: Washington is a 5'11", 190 lb. prospect with offers from Arizona State, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Syracuse, and UCLA; he committed to Mississippi State back in November. As a freshman in 2012, he had 89 carries for 1,017 yards and 14 touchdowns. He visited Michigan a couple weeks ago and is coming back with teammate O'Donnell (see above) for camp.
