MLive: Hoke says Michigan is near a championship level

Nick Baumgardner put together a piece that highlights Brady Hoke's confidence in his team. Do you agree?

Hit the jump for Kelly Karloff wearing at least a bit of clothing.

  1. Well, I am glad to hear that. Just got to see it come together on the field. Go Blue.

  2. Proof is in the pudding ... win games and play competitively in those we lose.

  3. Not really, but we do have a chance with a Senior QB and a maturing defense that isn't going to get mauled up front. But Devin Gardner better get and stay way hot.

So far, Gardner has alternated between brilliant and "What the hell was that". It will be interesting to see if he can put together a consistent string of games, especially in the conference. I'm thinking he has to be the no doubt about it first team All BIG QB for us to have any shot at a trip to Pasadena.

    1. Yup. I think we all know that Gardner's inconsistency was mostly due to the poor O-line play. He was sacked 30+ times and had to run for his life on so many plays due to the line of scrimmage breaking down. I don't think any QB would've survived that without losing his cool at times. If we can land Chad Lindsay and other guys grow from last year's disaster, we have a good chance for a 10+ win season with a 5th year QB and maturing defense that will be better than last year. Let's go blue.

    1. It's called the power of imagination which I don't think you really have to use much of here :).

  5. If Chad Lindsey played center we'd be in great shape. He knows Nuss's offense and I believe the center makes the line call's and adjustment's .

    1. absolutely. Just think of 2009-2011. Having Dave Molk there was a great blessing for us. He was rock solid for most of times and really helped our run game. I think having a 5th year guy there who knows the offense will make the difference between 8-9 win season and 10-11 win season.

    2. Yes, having an experienced, quality starter to anchor the center of the line could very well make the difference of a game or two. Lindsay would be about the best job insurance that Hoke could get right now, and he would be well advised to go after him with everything he's got.

  6. If by "championship level" Hoke is referring to the 2nd tier of the English football system than yes, yes Coach Hoke I entirely agree with your assessment of the teams current level of performance.

  8. Near championship level football?

I guess Akron and Uconn are right around the corner too.

I just hope we don't lose to App state with Hoke running the show.
