Ryan Mundy |
Honorable mention: Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker LaMarr Woodley had 4 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 1 sack, and 1 quarterback hurry in a 16-9 loss to the Tennessee Titans; teammate Zoltan Mesko, previously released by the New England Patriots, averaged 44.1 yards on 7 punts in the loss. Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Leon Hall had 7 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, and 2 pass breakups in a 24-21 loss to the Chicago Bears. And in case you were wondering, Jacksonville Jaguars running back Denard Robinson had 2 carries for 1 yard in a 28-2 loss to Kansas City (which featured Junior Hemingway on a 3-yard touchdown reception).
I really haven't payed much attention so I'm asking, did New England improve themselves at punter?
ReplyDeleteRyan Allen is a rookie from Louisiana Tech. He only averaged 39 yards/punt, but he hit a long of 65 and put 3 inside the 20, so that might have brought down his average a bit.
DeleteIt's before my time but why did Mundy transfer to West Virginia?
ReplyDeleteThe gist I got was that he was in the process of being demoted in favor of Brandent Englemon, and Mundy took a grad year transfer rather than sit on the bench.
DeleteYou forgot to mention that he knocked out the best CB the Giants have. Prince Amukamara. Friendly fire!
ReplyDeleteJust to clarify, he is a MICHIGAN graduate and a key contriubtor as a Freshman and Sophomore. His junior year he was injured/medical redshirt. When he came back he still played BUT had been "beaten out" by someone else. Since he'd already graduated he was able to transfer without sitting out. I believe he started for RR his last year at WVU.
ReplyDeleteI've heard he lists WVU as his school but calls himself a MICHIGAN man.
Also funny that 2 NY Giants are Michigan graduates but list other "colleges" on the roster page (Mike Cox & Mundy)
