Chris Brown from Smart Football wrote up a post on Alabama's smash route, which they ran with great effectiveness on Monday night. I have to admit that it was a pleasure to see Tyrann "Honey Badger" Mathieu get abused by bigger receivers, because Mathieu is cocky and has an ugly hairdo. Not only is this a look at what the Crimson Tide might run at Michigan in the fall, but Michigan might be able to take advantage of smash route concepts if and when they can get a quarterback who can put the ball on the money with frequency. Unfortunately, Denard Robinson has a tendency to be somewhat inaccurate, and an underthrown corner route is an automatic pick.
