Video: Craig Roh interview

  1. Two comments:

    1) Man, I cannot believe that Roh is going to be a Senior next season. Time sure does fly by.

    2) Is it just me or are Roh's awesome eyebrows even more full and lush than they were when he arrived in Ann Arbor?

    1. Yeah, his years have gone fast. It seemed like a lot of the Rodriguez kids didn't redshirt out of necessity (numbers were low), so several of them are finishing their careers a little prematurely.

I don't know about the eyebrows. I don't pay much attention to fashion/style of Michigan's recruits.

    2. I pay attention to such fashion. Roh's eyebrows are indeed more fetching now that he's matured. And, yeah, I remember when people were all excited about his "crab stance." Everyone's wondering if Big Will will "vindicate" himself. Honestly, I'm not sure Roh has lived up to expectations.

Yet. He has far superior coaching now. And it's his senior year. Just as Van Bergen went all Crazy Viking in his last year, I hope turns a corner and becomes a leader and on-the-field presence.

  2. I'm pretty sure eyebrows aren't a fashion or style so much as a body part (or several parts...)

Agree with Anon that Roh has been a disappointment. For all they hype within the fanbase he's never created much pressure on his own. Seems like a kid who should have redshirted and played an SDE-type role all along. Blame RR for that if you want, but the kids too slow to be an edge-rusher and not strong enough to be an in-line linemen. Now's his chance to prove that kind of criticism wrong. Hope he has the Senior year success most of us envisioned for him a few years back.

    1. Well, he had a little more quickness when he was 250-ish pounds. Getting up to 270 slowed him down significantly, I think. And yes, it would have been great for him to redshirt because it's taken him a while to develop his body. Unfortunately, he didn't have that luxury, and he bounced around so much that it probably stunted his development. For example, in 2010 when they switched to the 3-3-5, he was getting his body in shape to play outside linebacker. If the coaches had any sense whatsoever, they would have been bulking him up to play defensive end during that time.
